A large and ostensibly intoxicated man harassed a woman on a Spirit Airlines flight after accusing her of getting too close to him, including the use of racist tropes about public assistance to black Americans.
Man Harassed Woman On Spirit Airlines Flight In Deplaning Skirmish
The incident occurred on a Spirit Airlines flight (route unknown) as passengers were waiting to disembark. With cell phones recording, a man standing in a crowded aisle waiting to get off the airplane expressed frustration that the woman in front of him was too close. Apparently, she had jumped up and wedged herself in front of the man and the passenger in front of him, even though the line was not moving off the plane.
It quickly got heated.
“Relax before I take your hairpiece out,” the man, who was white, said to the woman, who was black.
She then made a barb about his weight, stating, “He’s overweight. You know they don’t usually take life easy.” She also complained he smelled like beer.
He responded by leaning over and breathing on her, then doing it again. In so doing, he came within inches of her and arguably committed battery.
Moments later, he accused her of receiving a “boatload of handouts” to which she responded that she was self-employed and paid taxes.
Thankfully, it did not end in more violence.
As someone rightly noted on reddit, when in public, it is wise to go by the philosophy that you are constantly being videotaped. If you act like a fool in public, as this man did, there’s a good chance that it will go viral and you will be doxxed. From there, your actions could basically ruin your life: many companies would immediately terminate you for acting like poorly in this manner.
This drunken idiot just did exactly that to himself. He’s already viral. He’s already portrayed as a big racist and a giant loser. He’s probably already doxxed and unemployed. What a worthless fight.
Indeed, that is my takeaway here. It’s just not worth it. Not worth it to over-consume alcohol. Not worth it to pick a fight with your seatmate, even if she gets up in the aisle and crowds your personal space. And making it racial? Disgusting.
Scary how so many Americans have gotten used to the expectation that, at any given moment, they can be videotaped, doxxed, and get fired by a Fortune 500 employer.
Worried that as AI gets move advanced and prominently deployed, the self censorship will get much worse.
The scary part is evildoers often start the videotaping once a White person or Christian is abused, assaulted, harassed, or antagonized and we don’t see what caused their reaction. This trickery wouldn’t happen if we automatically backed our own people like other groups do and not care how the other groups feel or care how much they complain.
One of the reasons I don’t fly spirit: way too many black people. Look at the plane. He looks like an overseer on a plantation.

Hey man, that’s just Fortune 500 companies using their free speech.
One group sent people to the moon and the other had no written language until it was given to them. We know that one group does nothing but turn everything foul from cities which were once golden to schools which were once decent and peaceful. Stop playing into the hand of anti Whites who start filming once White people are abused, assaulted, or harassed and then the only thing that’s shown is White people responding to that abuse but without the context of what went on.
No matter how much we placate these anti Whites, they still will hate White people even though White people have given them everything they have from electricity to phones to cars to toilet paper. If you wouldn’t want your kids to go to school with them or you wouldn’t want to live in their neighborhoods, stop parroting their narrative. They’ll still hate you.

I think it is really disappointing that Matthew allows some of these comments on what is supposed to be an aviation related blog. I will probably get cancelled for saying anything against these continual insults that have zero to do with the theme of the articles. So be it.
Given the state of the UI (the “remember my email for next time” checkbox does nothing), I would be surprised if this site has a function to delete comments at all.
I think leaving the comments serves the function of showing that these racist ideas are still out there. I don’t encounter such bigotry, but my Black friends sure do.

Yes, and, I also think about what mental strategies Black people can use to overcome these challenges. In a 2015 interview with NPR, Julius Montgomery shared this about his first day at NASA in the 1960s: “Nobody was shaking my hand. I got to the last fellow. And I said, how are you? I’m Julius Montgomery. And, boy, you don’t talk to a white man like that. I said, oh, forgive me, oh, great white b*d. I really did say that. And he laughed. I laughed, and then we shook hands. And so I said, look; I’m part of the educational program to train you guys to act like people. You’ve been acting like rednecks all your life, so you need training, retraining.” What stands out to me is that Montgomery reframed the threats he received and put himself in an active role. Not as a sad victim. This is what seems to work well in my observation.
I disagree, I love Chi Hsuan’s commentary and I think you should build a bridge and get over it if you don’t like it.
You “might” not be him/her but you apparently wear the same stripes. It must suck going through life so jaded that everything seen has to have a racial or lifestyle twist to it. (And Matthew’s lame response to what many have communicated regarding the tone of so many postings, remains disappointing…at least to me).
