The woman ejected from a United Airlines flight after a “misgendering incident” onboard has provided more context about what occurred, insisting that she was “unjustly” removed from the flight.
Mother Mocks “Carry-On” Rationale From United Airlines, Says Her Removal From Flight Was “Unjust”
A mother traveling with a young child and her own mother named Jenna Longoria was removed from a United Airlines flight to Austin. I’ve laid out the details here, but you can view her side of the story in the videos below:
United, meanwhile, claimed that the issue was about carry-on bags and escalated:
“A party of three traveling out of San Francisco today was not allowed to board following a discussion about having too many carry-on items. The matter was resolved and the customers took a later United flight to finish their trip.”
I reached out to Longoria immediately after the incident for comment but she did not reply. She did, however, speak to the UK Daily Mail, saying that United’s explanation “makes no sense” and the company is “providing a different version of events because they know what they did was unjust.”
- Longoria did concede there was a carry-on item issue, but said the issue was settled before she even stepped foot onboard
- She suggested that since her mother was not allowed to pre-board with her and her child, she wound up with extra carry-on items for the two of them
- Upon reaching the aircraft door, her toddler was having a “meltdown”
- Longoria said, “Thank you, sir” to the flight attendant checking boarding passes at the aircraft door
- The flight attendant, who was wearing a dress, became “visibly shaken”
- Longoria then asked another flight attendant, “Can you help me? He will not let my mother through.”
- She claims the other flight attendant became upset, stating, “Who is he? That’s a woman. She’s wearing a dress.”
- “He then tells me to get off the plane…says something along the lines of ‘I don’t like what you said, I can deny you entrance, someone will come to assist you.'”
- At that point, Longoria claims she repeatedly apologized but was removed before having this conversation with a ground staff supervisor:
I wish to report the truth concerning this story…was it a power-tripping flight attendant who grossly overreacted to a stressed-out mother or was there a deliberate level of nastiness that reasonably brought into question whether Longoria would defy crewmember instructions onboard?
I’m not sure these latest statements help or hurt her cause. On the one hand, if the flight attendant wearing the dress became visibly shaken why use “he” again? There must have been a longer argument than a greeting if she said, “He will not let my mother through” to another flight attendant. That suggests an argument if not over carry-on items, over pre-boarding or another matter that involved the flight attendant.
But on the other hand, what if it was just flight attendants who decided to seize on an honest mistake and throw her off? Pulling the “I can deny you entrance” card is really serious and the opposite of the de-escalation methods we should see from flight attendants.
CONCLUSION
I find myself still unclear about what happened onboard, but I’m bringing it up again because this story is making headlines throughout conservative media…with a lot of assumptions in favor of the mother. It may be that Longoria was unjustly treated indeed, but I feel like the story is still missing a lot of important context.

So the biggest question left is what “is” the FA? Is it just an ugly female, in which case, I’d understand why getting sad because it’s probably not the first time she heard it. But if it’s clearly a dude in a dress with a 5:00 shadow, it’s a he. And she was 100% correct.
This does move into the entire preboarding issue. Far too many people are taking advantage of it and to me a baby isn’t a legitimate reason.

But are you really? Nothing here she added either proves or disproves her claim, it’s just another baiting article designed to get views and comments from the usual batch of hateful people on here (see the comments above mine).
Her comments are clarifying to an extent and confirm this began with a luggage issue and also suggest, by her own words, that was more to the converastion with the first FA than simply saying “sir” instead of “ma’am.”
It matters because she is now being held up as a victim by many on social media and more right-leaning news outlets and I’ve seen no evidence (yet), even hearing her clarification, that clairfies this issue. I want to know exactly what happened becuase I think it does matter (whether it was a bad FA or a bad passenger or both).
Maybe she IS a victim. Until everyone sees a picture of the FA no one can really judge who the victim is.

I cannot begin to imagine the chaos that would ensue on every departure if your idea was tried. The rules are clear. She should have folllwed them rather than make up some story about pronoun misuse.

Well, the mom doesn’t appear to have any issues with accurately understanding which pronouns are correct. Which contributed to her bad day. If she had bright blue hair and nose rings that set off the radar detector, she’d have gotten a free pass.

It sounds like the woman is trying to CYA. She spouted off. She got called on it. She was denied boarding by the Captain, not the Flight Attendant. There really are repercussions to one’s behavior. One would think she might have learned how to behave. Instead, she is trying to rally the internet to her favor. Who does that? Posts a video like that? Seriously?! Embarrassing.
She stated she had a stroller and a car seat. Those are checked at the gate- not part of carryon baggage amount. There is no reason her mother would not have been allowed to board early, as well, other than not being there at that moment to board.
If you have too many items- you need to check them. If you cannot handle what you bring- you need to check your items. It is no one else’s responsibility, but yours. It is a called a carry-on for a reason. What’s the adage? You bring it- you sling it. Too big? Check it. Too heavy? Check it. Too much baggage to corral? Check it.
It is unfortunate that people cannot take responsibility for their actions and just behave. Be polite- or just be silent. I am sure there is a lot more to the story than is being told here.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and make some assumptions based on this same exact thing playing out in front of me multiple times with fellow passengers and the way she describes the events with her bags – something seems amiss and like this was the viral tiktok “hack” gone wrong. It’s playing out like the same meltdown I’ve seen time and time again. When it doesn’t play out passengers have an absolute raging meltdown.
It’s group 5 boarding being told there’s no overhead room left (it’s a classic if they’re already trying to bring on an oversized personal items), they say they have meds in their carryon bag or oversized personal bag to try and parlay it into having someone else’s bag pulled and valeted or allowing their multiple personals on etc. and it ALWAYS boils down to that person having a meltdown at a FA.
Another thing I’m seeing more of is people that are in a group boarding before someone they’re traveling with,trying to get their (usually oversized) bags or extra personal items in with the person boarding first. They say they’re taking their friends bag in with them and they’ll be sitting together and argue with FA when they don’t allow them to do it. Blowing up to the point of just having to be told they’re not getting on that flight.
The tiktok “hack” of they can’t seperate you from your meds is something I’ve seen before. It’s really weird how she mentions that and it makes me wonder if when that didn’t play out like she thought it would there was an entitled fit.
I’ve seen it happen with passengers doing these exact things on United,delta,and AA, in the past few years but it’s getting way worse.

There is liberal media…including “mainstream” outlets like the NYTimes and WaPo with left-wing editorial staff…and no, liberal media wouldn’t touch this story.

I’m not fond of United. They scratched my nice carry-on because, due to too many carry-ons from other passengers, mine had to go in cargo. I didn’t argue, but I thought it was unfair. We were packed like sardines, and on the four-hour flight, they ran out of water and refreshments during the stopover in Detroit before continuing to LAX. I had a partial window seat and would have had to climb over people to use the restroom. To make matters worse, there was a baby crying for most of the flight. In the end, I received $200 for my scratched carry-on after I issued an online statement to the federal oversight agency. I think it’s better to let things go until you can write them down. But I thought the baby in the story was adorable—hope everyone is okay now.
Flight attendants are the onboard staff. The customer service agents are the ones who check tickets and deal with baggage at the door. Stop blaming the flight attendants for the service agents mess ups. They already get enough crap as it is
