Fight Club Minneapolis: Multiple Fights Break Out At MSP Airport

Multiple concurrent fights broke in Terminal 2 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport over Thanksgiving weekend, with chairs and stanchions used to inflict maximum damage.

MSP Airport Fight Club: Post-Flight Brawls Get Nasty

Video posted to Facebook shows a group (or several groups) of travelers travelers hurling firsts at one another in MSP Terminal 2. The fight takes a turn for the worse when it pivots to the security checkpoint area and one traveler grabs a stanchion while another grabs a chair.

MSP spokesperson Patrick Hogan noted the fight involved several people and “some of the individuals threw stanchions and broke chairs.”

No kidding…

While it is not clear what airline the group was flying, MSP Terminal 2 is home for the following airlines:

  • Allegiant
  • Condor
  • Frontier
  • Icelandair
  • JetBlue
  • Southwest
  • Sun Country

Comments on Facebook suggested the fight went on for several minutes and in several stages before the police finally arrived to break it up. Police made no arrests, but Hogan noted the police will be checking surveillance footage and may bring charges at a later time.

Per the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

Bloomington police responded to the Terminal 2 baggage claim to “keep the peace” as airport police broke up the fight in the gate area and directed those involved to retrieve their luggage.

“The focus at the time was on restoring peace and getting everyone safely to ground transportation and away from the airport,” Hogan said.

Paramedics were also called, though no one sustained injuries serious enough to require hospitalization.

CONCLUSION

Miraculously, like professional wrestling, no appeared to be actually injured. As to what prompted this fight, we can only guess, though I’d imagine a full flight with cramped legroom and no service on a budget carrier could trigger such a response.

When it comes to airport fighting, Minneapolis is giving Miami a run for the money…

Where has the United content been recently? Has been so much news, from the sustainable flight, new flight schedule starting Dec 16 with a ton more capacity, IAH Polaris lounge opened, where has all the coverage been?

At this point, this sort of thing is just normal. I’m glad nobody was injured, and honestly, I kind of enjoyed that video! The woman that grabbed the trash can lid was really creative. That was much more practical than the stachion. As for airline, I’m guessing Icelandair. I hope they all made it to Keflavik safely and well rested.

Why are Americans always so angry, tense, and violent? You really don’t see this at Mexican or European airports. Such an unpleasant country in which to travel — I say this as a citizen.

These are people from the inner city… I grew up around some of them. It’s how they act everywhere they go… You see it more often now at airports and on planes thanks to cheaper fares, especially during the pandemic. It’s a generational problem in the way these people are raised (or not raised)…

Wrong. Two guilty verdicts to the suburban man. It’s the entitled suburban white guy causing all the trouble. Like usual. Inner city people are cool.

All I have to do is to laugh. 🙂 🙂 🙂 The local paper says they all deplaned a Frontier plane.

Of course there were no arrests made, look at who was involved!
Surprised there were police involved since they want to defund and send social workers .

There definitely would have been arrests if someone had called in the fashion police.

Doesn’t look like Summer Hull was involved.

And when you say to keep her out of it look at her post on advising people to avoid Gulf Coast beaches because they may run into Trump supporters last year like they were dangerous people.

She deserves any mention she gets for her racism.

Airlines like Frontier and Spirit are the Greyhound buses of our era. I’ll pay extra to avoid flights on airlines that cater to these idiots. Nothing worse than being at 30,000 feet when a fight breaks out. “Attention WalMart shoppers – please avoid aisle 8 while we clean up the blood. And thank you for shopping WalMart”

In all honesty I think Greyhound is a better bet these days . . .
