As a party broke out on a budget carrier in South America, the question is where were the flight attendants?
Flight Attendants Nowhere To Be Seen As Passengers Party On Seats, Swing From Overhead Bins
Flight attendants were nowhere to be seen as a pair of passengers lifted themselves up and grasped the overhead bins to gyrate over other people’s seats during a Flybondi flight. Flybondi is an Argentine budget carrier based in Buenos Aires that operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800 jets. It seems other passengers did not mind: if you watch the video below, there is all sorts of howling and hooting and filming going on…
@luanachio El final es lo mejor
There are many reasons this conduct is not recommended, including that turbulence can strike at any time and also that we should respect the property of others, including airline seats which have a lifetime far longer than one flight.
Can you imagine sudden turbulence sending those two flying through the cabin, injuring themselves and others?
Sorry to be a killjoy, but this sort of behavior is for a nightclub, not an airplane cabin.
That said, it’s a wonder this did not happen on a flight from England to Spain…it’s not just the Brits and Americans that act up. In fact, when I heard it happened on Flybondi and saw the video, my first thought was that it must be some Australian budget carrier I had never heard of and clientele to match…
I’m glad there were no injuries, but this sort of behavior is always inappropriate on airplanes and bolsters the argument of those who argue that alcohol should not be sold onboard…
Hat Tip: View From The Wing)
Argentines have a tradition of going on a graduation trip when they finish high school. Many go to beautiful Bariloche in the south of the country, others go to the south of Brazil or other cities. The Argentine, especially the porteño (from Buenos Aires and surrounding areas), is basically an Italian who speaks Spanish and thinks he is English. They are very lively, especially in a group. Very friendly and yes, and very noisy.
Even the name of the low cost airline, FlyBondi, is because Bondi means bus in “lunfardo”, a slang originated and developed in the River Plate region, that contains words from Italian, Spanish and other languages. In fact, Bondi comes from the Portuguese “bonde”, which means tram.
When I initially saw this, I assumed it had to be Northern England to Spain. That’s not me taking a shot at folks from the North… I’d love to be on a rowdy Ryanair flight to Spain. I’d probably join in on the fun.
Taking “complimentary seatback entertainment” to a whole new level. Looks fun.
The things people will do to become social media famous/go viral…
A hard swift punch in the family jewels would have taken his rear end out of my face. Moronic and NO, not funny behavior. Why are other passengers so eager to whoop and holler at this childish behavior? I’m sure they did damage to the setbacks as well.
spell correction — probably did damage to the seat backs.
