Pictures: Saying Goodbye to United Airlines at JFK

Matthew Klint Posted onOctober 24, 2015December 5, 2016 3 Comments

The final United Airlines flight at John F. Kennedy International Airport just took off for Los Angeles, ending a storied era for United. Today you can view a selection of pictures I recently took around Terminal 7, United’s now former home at JFK. They are set in black and white to mark the somber occasion of United giving up on New York’s premiere airport. Tomorrow will feature a look at the personal stories of many United employees now finding themselves at a crossroads. Monday I will have a trip report of one of the final p.s. flights from JFK to San Francisco in BusinessFirst.

The shameless attempts of covering up the Tulip and the out right bailing out of JFK are sickening. There’s a special place in hell for Jeff Smisek for what he’s done to //// United Airlines.

You should’ve ripped off the tape covering over the tulip!

Are people still complaining about the tulip being replaced? I don’t understand the “outrage” displayed by the others on this thread. Why is it “sickening” for a company to phase out an out of use logo? American is doing the same with US Airways. Heck, every company that changes their logo has done this. Move on. How can this airline move forward if we’re still fighting over a logo?
