I’m a big fan of the point.me search engine for maximizing your points and miles and I am a big fan of Bilt, a loyalty currency that I find extremely valuable for its unique cadre of transfer partners. Not only is Bilt now integrated into point.me, but Bilt Rewards users can use point.me to search for award space…for free.
Search Point.Me Award Space At No Cost With Bilt Rewards
Here, let me speak in your language (and mine…who am I kidding): point.me costs money (money generally well-spent, but still money). Bilt Rewards is free. Bilt Rewards users can use point.me for free. Therefore, Bilt + point.me = an amazing value.
With point.me, you simply put in your origin and destination and dates of travel and let the system go to work. You’ll soon find out what might be available using the point currencies you have specified and even better, point.me will walk you though how to book.
Don’t want to do it yourself? Let us know at Award Expert…we are selectively taking clients and would love to help. Point.me also has its own full-service concierge team.
To take advantage of this, open the Bilt mobile app and navigate to the “Rewards” section. Choose “Travel” where you will see a choice between “Transfer Partners” or “Bilt Travel Portal.” If you choose the travel portal you can redeem your points against a revenue ticket at 1.25 cents each. But if you choose transfer parters you can use point.me to search for award space using any of the Bilt transfer partners (which of course, uniquely include both American Airlines and United Airlines).
I love it. It’s an innovative collaboration between two companies I admire and run by people I deeply respect. You’re darn right I’m biased, but my bias comes from my appreciation of both products.
Don’t Underestimate Bilt
As a reminder, you can transfer your Bilt points to:
- Aer Lingus AerClub
- Air Canada Aeroplan
- Air France/KLM FlyingBlue
- American Airlines AAdvantage
- British Airways Executive Club
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Emirates Skywards
- Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles
- Iberia Plus
- IHG Rewards
- Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
- United Airlines MileagePlus
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
- World of Hyatt
Where else can you transfer to both American Airlines and United Airlines (not to mention the other great pool of partners) at attractive rates and near instantaneously (unlike Marriott Bonvoy)?
Anyone can apply for the Bilt Mastercard to pay rent directly and earn Bilt points for other transactions. You don’t have to rent to to apply. You don’t even need the credit card in order to sign up for Bilt Rewards and use point.me.
Check it out – but be patient. It takes the system a couple minutes to do its work (a lot of background searches, after all) and results do not display until the entire search is complete.
For a more comprehensive award search (beyond the Bilt loyalty partners) as well a detailed tutorial on how to book yourself, check out point.me.
CONCLUSION
I’m excited to see Bilt and point.me cozy up. Both offer a valuable product and the ability to search for free using point.me on the Bilt Rewards app is an amazing new possibility in maximizing your points and miles.
With this app, why would now anyone pay for point.me?
Becuase it only searches Bilt partners, not Chase/AMEX/CapOne (plus partners) that make the tool so useful for those who diversify their points.
Got it, I realized it shortly after I posted.
