Review: Premier Lounge Jakarta (CGK)

The best thing this Priority Pass lounge has going for it is the spa inside. That’s worth a visit, even if you skip the food and drink.

In terms of Priority Pass lounges, this one rates above average. Dark lighting and comfortable seating make for a tranquil environment to wait for your flight. Internet is slow, but better than in the Pura Indah lounge next door (also a Priority Pass lounge).

A smoking and computer room are also available:

a glass door with a bar and chairs in the background

a computer on a desk

A buffet offers a very respectable selection of food and drink.

Restrooms and showers are available.

But what I appreciated about this lounge was the reflexology studio. For 80,000IDR (about $6), you could get a 30-minute foot and back massage. That’s on the expensive side for Indonesia, but a great price for an airport massage.

I had the time, so I tried it out: there were four chairs and three of the four occupied. The massage was 20-minutes feet/ankles and 10 minute back, and just right. The masseuse spoke very little English and a TV was annoyingly blaring inside the room. Even so, the massage was excellent.

CONCLUSION

If Priority Pass really wanted to win some loyalty, it could include 30-mintue of complimentary massage with each entrance: with so many restaurants added to the line-up, why not a massage place? But whether you use the massage facilities or not, this is my favorite Priority Pass lounge at Jakarta Airport. You’ll find it in Terminal 2D. Opening hours are from 3am – 1am daily.

I have a possible upcoming itinerary that would include a six-hour overnight layover at CGK. Would this lounge be OK to pass that amount of time? It doesn’t look like there’s anywhere to sleep or even really stretch out

The lounge is closed between 1am and 3am, but I’d say this beats the terminal. I’d just get an airport hotel, though.

DJ, it depends on what airlines you are using. If you’re coming in/out on Garuda, you will be at the new terminal (this lounge is at the old one), which is much nicer than the one the other airlines use. Unfortunately there are no PP lounges there.

There are two PP lounges at terminal 3 (1 international & 1 domestic terminal). Both are just ‘okay’ lounges to avoid the crowd.

Ah, good to know…when I was last there in late January I don’t think they were open yet.

    Hello Matthew,

I have question.. This lounge is located on public area on the terminal 2D ? It means if you arrive from another country and go over picking luggage and final custom inspection and after you have to find this place?

Thanks a lot for the info…

On their website they state that they accept dinersclub travel card in each of their locations.

Counting and trusting that information I tried to enter the Lounge in Jakarta Airport but was declined.
Staff didn’t do anything to resolve the problem in my favor.
A letter of complaint to the management remained unanswered.
