The Primeclass Lounge in New York JFK Terminal 1 is far nicer than the Primeclass Lounge in Terminal 4 and offers a clean and quiet space with a respectable food selection and friendly service.

Primeclass Lounge JFK Terminal 1 Review

This is a Priority Pass lounge and is used by some of the non-aligned carriers that serve T1 for their business class passengers. It is near gates 8 and 9 (past security) and open at varying times based on the day of the week:

  • Monday: 11:30 am – 9:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 11:30 am – 1:00 am
  • Wednesday: 11:30 am – 9:00 pm
  • Thursday: 11:30 am – 1:00 am
  • Friday: 11:30 am – 9:00 pm
  • Saturday: 11:30 am – 1:00 am
  • Sunday: 11:30 am – 9:00 pm

You must have an outbound boarding pass from JFK Terminal 1 to access this lounge and your stay is limited to three hours when entering via Priority Pass.

In this lounge, you enter on the departures level–where there is only a desk to check you in–and head downstairs.

Downstairs, there’s a seating area with tables + chairs and couches. Many do not have A/C power ports within reach, but you can find plugs along the bar (under the counter). There is some natural light in the lounge, but if you look out the window you are likely to see jetbridges rather than aircraft.

Near the stairs there’s a business center area with a computer and three chairs.

Food was decent in this lounge, with a selection including:

  • salad bar
  • chicken thighs in a cream sauce
  • pasta with tomato sauce
  • cooked broccoli
  • white rice
  • slice cheese
  • fruit
  • cheesecake
  • cookies
  • chips
  • cereal
  • instant soup

I’m not sure about the hot food, but I enjoyed a salad and found the strawberries ripe and sweet.

Coffee was self-serve; other drinks could be requested at the bar.

The bar offered a small selection of complimentary alcohol (soft drinks were also free) and a number of “premium” beers, wines, and spirits for purchase.

A shower suite is available (it was occupied during my visit) and there was also a long wait for the two bathrooms, but I used one before leaving…I do like the private restrooms versus communal ones.

Newspapers and maganzines were available via QR code.

Finally, a note on the service. The bartender was very nice…he constantly asked if I needed anything and also kept himself busy clearing away used dishes and cups.

CONCLUSION

While not a lounge I would arrive early for, I enjoyed my time here…it was productive, the lounge was not overly crowded, and I enjoyed a salad.

How would you rank the JFK T1 Lounges given people with PP and flying business class often can choose from several of them?

Thank you for the response. I have a TK business class flight out of JFK coming up. Might just try the Primeclass with my Priority Pass instead of the TK lounge.

I like this lounge. Better than the average PP lounge.
