Qatar Airways revealed its new business class product today in Berlin it brands “QSuite, First in Business”. Here’s why I love it.

Three Reasons Why I Love Qatar’s QSuite Business Class
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
1.It maintains existing cabin density
That may be a surprising first reason, but imagine if the new QSuite product meant that the number of business class seats was cut in half. Oh, the product would have been just as good, but if you are a wise traveler, one who collects points and uses those points smartly, your chances of scoring a seat would be limited.
Qatar Airways currently has great business class award inventory across its route network, a wonderful advantage to holding oneworld miles. While Qatar also runs great fare sales and routinely offers cheap premium fares out of the three C’s (Casablanca, Cairo, and Colombo), using miles still represents a very good use of points. This is unlikely to change once the new product is installed.
2.It is functional for all travelers
Qatar truly put a lot of through into this new cabin. I love that it is optimized for solo travelers, couples, and families. Not just one, but all three. The new center seating section in which four people can share a table is the true revolution, a great concept. Whether used for a business meeting or family dining, it affords whole new opportunities. Double beds in business class and incredible solo seats also make it ideal for couples and singles.
3.It is more than just a seat
Qatar Airways already is a contender for world’s overall best business class product. The launch of Qsuites makes it even better, but it will not just be a new seat. Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker promised an improved business class experience in all aspects. Food is already tough to beat on Qatar, so if Qatar makes it even better, it will enjoy another advantage over its competition.
CONCLUSION – Great Expectations
The rollout of the new seat will be quick, promised Al Baker. The 777-300ER will be first to get the new QSuites, flying between Doha and London in June 2017. All 777s and A350s will eventually feature the new QSuites. 787s and A380s will feature a modified version of QSuites due to space constraints (like the curvature of the upper deck on the A380). I think the promise to have the retrofit complete by the end of next year is a bit optimistic, particularly with detail-oriented (perfectionist) Akbar, but we will see. I am excited to see this new seat in person.
