Review: Bidvest Premier Lounge in Cape Town Airport

Matthew Klint Posted onFebruary 6, 2017 Leave a Comment

The Bidvest Lounge is one of three lounges in Cape Town’s international terminal, the other two being British Airways and Emirates. Open to business class passengers on non-BA/EK flights and to Priority Pass cardholders, the lounge is nothing remarkable but does have cleaner bathrooms than the terminal, an assortment of food and drink (including complimentary alcohol), and a smoking lounge.

We arrived approximately 75 minutes prior to our flight and spent much of our time sending out email since our Virgin Atlantic flight to London Heathrow featured no onboard wi-fi. The internet was slow, but usable.

The food selection looked surprisingly decent. Because it was so late and I wanted to eat “supper” onboard, I did not eat anything. My wife had brought a can of tuna along (can you say stinky?) and made herself a salad.

CONCLUSION

Some lounges are worth showing up early for. Others are nice enough if you happen to arrive early. Some are not even worth visiting. This is certainly in the “nice enough” category.
