A stay in Paris should be magic, and in our case it certainly was. The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome delivered on a perfect Parisian stay.

Location
Located just off the historic and beautiful Place Vendome, the hotel is perfectly positioned for visitors to Paris. Convenient metro stops, the Champs Elysses, the Louvre and Museo D’Orsay are all nearby. The Paris Opera (one of two) is also nearby. It is in the First Arrondissement.

Suite
There should be a caveat to the word suite. By Paris standards, it was a suite, by most of the rest of the world, it was a large studio with a very large bathroom. That said, the room was well appointed. A large TV was built into a glass mirrored wall, the bed was comfortable and they set a bed for Lucy simply because they saw her on the reservation (though it could also be that My Hyatt Concierge is great and let them know she’d be with us.)
One complaint was that the minibar had triggered slots with no room for anything else. We triggered it when we put some cheese in the fridge and had to clarify that we didn’t take anything from the minibar. You can sometimes ask that the items are removed but we didn’t bother. Maybe we should have.
The bathroom was stunning. There was plenty of room for our many bags, a huge plus when travelling on a very long trip as we were. The shower was spacious, the toiletries were excellent, and Lucy made use of the large soaking tub. If I had any complaints about the bathroom it would be just two. First, the toilet should have had a bidet or bidet seat. Second, the doors were sliding hung doors that didn’t fully close.
Service
Tiptop service is not always a given, even at high-end hotels and resorts. The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome absolutely delivers on expectations for exquisite service. We needed a power plug converter, “How many would you like” they arrived at our door shortly thereafter. Whatever was needed was there in a minute. That’s how service should be at a property like this and it was.
Breakfast
Welcome to Globalist breakfast heaven. Not all Hyatt hotels that still have room service will allow Globalists to take their included breakfast in the room, many require guests to dine in the restaurant downstairs, sometimes with a limited menu. The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome offers a la carte items or their €55 American breakfast for each registered guest (up to two adults and two children) every day.
It’s opulent. It’s too much food. It’s delicious. And we maxed it out every day.
Nutella pancakes for Lucy, perfectly fluffy scrambled eggs for me, fresh-squeezed juice for Carly – everyone had everything they wanted and much more with slippers and robes on. This is the kind of elite benefit that makes all of the nights in a roadside Hyatt Place worthwhile. This is one of the many reasons we are loyal.
Value
The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome is a Category 7 property, traditionally the top level of the chain. The cash price of the hotel was approximately €2500 for our three-night chain. However, we used a Category 1-7 certificate and 30,000 points/night (60,000 in total) for our stay. Adding in the cost of breakfast (€165/day) makes the value even greater even if you establish a lower value to the meal or choose not to get the maximum. For us, the value was extraordinary and we would absolutely return.
Have you stayed at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome? Was your experience similar? Do you prefer another Parisian hotel?
We’ve stayed there every year since they opened, either on points, points and cash or FFN and some years more than once. The breakfasts are great, but Paris is full of amazing places to eat, so I save my calories for lunch and dinner.
We’ve stayed in all levels of rooms as a Diamond, PLT, Disco, Expo and had a handful of bad experiences – mostly due to ventilation issues and really loud, unexplained noises coming from the HVAC.
I do love the most the fact that we hear no one in the corridors 95% of the time. This last stay (ended yesterday, was the first time we heard voices and a little running in the hallways) and only one night. Other than that, pure gold silence.
Also, windows open. We sleep hot and this is a big draw to us.
I agree about the refrigerators, I put a 2 oz jar of chocolate spread in the fridge and it triggered a charge (which was removed). The window boxes serve as proxy fridges from November – March.
The towel racks are great for drying smalls when you are on a long trip. I will say that the bathrooms all vary in size. This time our room was massive, but our dressing area was tiny. in the past our bathroom and dressing room area has felt bigger than the seating spaces in the bedroom.
The last few rooms we’ve had (jr suite or deluxe king) have updated toto toilets. Maybe you should request that instead.
The rollaways in this hotel are also magnificent (took a suite upgrade but with only one bed with a friend) and I slept in the living room on the rollaway and it was great.
The staff makes this hotel so great – the GM, GR, the front desk folks and the concierge desk all helpful and work miracles.
I honestly believe them when we receive a note welcoming us back to our Parisian residence that they mean it.
I look forward to our stay every year.
Literally on the plane back to LAX as I type. Had 4 nights at Hyatt Vendome. Am globalist and used points and a suite upgrade cert. Service was 10/10, breakfast was “fine” however but not the best we’ve ever had. Room was comfortable but not a two-room room as one would expect. Location was great! Getting there in traffic sucked as did immigration at CDG. Checked off The Bucket List however I can say that I have no great desire to go back considering there are so many places in the world to go. Anyone who is curious to try it out I would recommend it
Not my favorite property in the Hyatt portfolio. Too stuffy and formal. Rooms are oddly set up as you noted and very dark. The breakfast is fine but it isn’t the best.
Nice review Kyle. Thanks.
It is not in the First arrondissement…
The postal code is 75002 so it is in the second arrondissement.
It it was in the first arrondissement, the postal code will be 75001.
Champs-Élysées and Musee D’Orsay , just for the sake of accuracy….
You and Matthew continue to demonstrate why Hyatt should be the go to brand for true road warriors. Globalist just adds sooo much value.
