American, Brit Exchange Blows On Ryanair Flight

Wild video has remerged of a British and American man exchanging blows on a Ryanair flight to London. The reason for the fight? Absolutely pathetic.

Yankee Doodle Dandy: Blows Exchanged Between Brit And American On Ryanair Flight To London

Graphic video posted on Newsflare shows a fistfight onboard a July 3, 2023 Ryanair flight from Malta (MLA) to London (STN). The fight allegedly broke out when the British passenger failed to move so the American passenger could take his widow seat.

Passenger Neil Modwhadia, who shot the video above, provided the following narration:

“The shorter guy on the left is American and had the window seat. The taller man on the right with a cap on is British and had the aisle seat.

“The British man wouldn’t let the American man pass through to get to his window seat and then some words and swears were exchanged before a scuffle broke.”

Other passengers and flight intervened, separating the two men. The kerfuffle delayed the flight two hours: the two men were removed.

Ryanair confirmed the situation, though did not go into details:

“Two passengers on this flight from Malta to Stansted (3 July) became disruptive ahead of take-off. Cabin crew diffused the situation before the aircraft departed safely for Stansted following a minor delay.”

Here’s a thought: slide over so your seatmate can get to his seat. See, that wasn’t so hard now, was it?

CONCLUSION

Stay safe out there if you are traveling Ryanair this summer. This isn’t the first recent fight and won’t be the last…

The guy assigned to the window seat wanted to sit there. However, Matthew probably correctly reported it as a “widow” seat because the other guy threatened to kill him and make his wife a widow if he insisted on sitting there.

Why are these idiots fighting like this with no masks? Viral particles could be potentially be spewing all over the place, just for a widow seat.

As I have stated in the past, I was under the impression these situations only happened in America .
I guess we carry our bad habits as we transverse the world.

As I tell my travel partner(s), “Don’t be the Ugly American, let someone else have that honor!”

Brits generally come in a close 2nd for bad behavior as tourists, I heard. The Danes are reputed to be chain smokers and queue cutters.

I think the greatest offense many Europeans have with the Yank tourists is our (lack of) fashion sense: Wearing white socks and sneakers, inappropriate short attire, dressing casually in fine dining restaurants, obesity.

I am in Europe right now and while I agree many Americans have absolutely no etiquette on how to travel and behave in a different culture, many tourists here are simply horrible. Flocks of Asians following a guide tour holding a flag is absolutely pathetic. They have no respect, no common sense, no nothing. They just run over everyone on their way. Some Europeans are also very obnoxious. Some never took a shower since they were born. In sum, it still amazes me how some tourists behave so badly. Many are plain stupid, many are just ignorant, many are there to take advantage of the situation. Very few know how to travel in style and behave as it is expected.

YES! Even had an American tourist riding a bike on a cobblestone street area in Vienna (near Hofburg if I recall correctly), and yelled at us to get the f out of her way. We were just laughing at how stupid the American was to be riding a rental bike on cobblestone watching her head and helmet shake it all different directions like a bobblehead!

Eh…I was just in Europe and saw so many European men wear ragged demin shorts and I made fun of it. And I saw many tourists (probably American) wear cargo shorts (which kind of makes sense to carry little items), so it seems to be a wash in fashion shorts-wear. I wore fashionable BR preppy shorts in nice muted colors. At least I hope they were fashionable….

Yeah, jorts are still a thing in German-speaking Europe.

In general, while Americans might get ragged on for poor fashion sense (mostly older American tourists) and general cluelessness, they’re rarely a problem when it comes to crime in Europe, at least according to any police officer I’ve talked to. They probably don’t even make the top five despite their numbers.

Nationality has nothing to do with tourist habits. Don’t parrot such nonsense. Said the same thing to a guy a the LHR AA check-in counter when he stated, “sorry, I’m just a stupid American”. I couldn’t help but inject myself into his convo with the agent and explain his nationality had nothing to do with it, he was simply a stupid person. Really don’t understand the need for folks to self-depricate and repeat idiotic statements like these and generalize over 370 million of their fellow citizens.
