UPDATE: The SkyTeam London Heathrow (LHR) lounge is permanently closed.

The SkyTeam Lounge London Heathrow is an excellent Priority Pass Lounge in LHR’s Terminal 4.

After passing through the security checkpoint, the lounge isn’t far. Look up for the Etihad/SkyTeam sign and you’ll see a long corridor leading down to the lounge from nestled to the left of a duty free shop.

Access is available to SkyTeam Elite Plus members traveling in any class of service, SkyTeam business or first class passengers, and Priority Pass members. The lounge is open daily from 5:00a.m. to 10:00p.m.

While the lounge does get crowded, especially in the mid-morning, it is a large enough lounge to sustain the high volumes. I love the live plants growing on the walls.

Quiet rooms are also available:

A buffet offers hot and cold dishes throughout the door. Look for a full English and Continental Breakfast in the morning and tastes from around the world during the lunch and dinner hours.

Hard liquor, coffee, and soft drinks are also self-service:

I felt like such a fool when a lady wearing a Clarins uniform came up to me after I had been sitting in the lounge for an hour and was about to leave.

“Sir, would you like a complimentary 20 minute massage?”

It was either that or miss boarding on time for my Air Serbia flight. Sadly, I had to decline. When you enter the lounge, ask about a complimentary spa treatment right away. Turns out the spa was practically empty around midday when I was there.

CONCLUSION

I like this lounge a lot mostly because I love the live  plants growing on the walls, but it’s an excellent SkyTeam lounge with plenty of room and a spa offering complimentary treatments. I’m coming here first next time I fly out of Terminal 4 at LHR.

It is a great lounge for AF and DL flyers. LHR has about the best lounges of any major airport (subject to the admission that I have not flown much to Asia), and the advantage that there are excellent lounges in much every terminal, not just in some terminals (I’m looking at you, LAX, IAD and CDG).

Doesn’t DL use LHR T3 and the VS clubhouse now?

I am very surprised to read such a positive review of this lounge.
Just spent about 1.5 hours here waiting for a KLM flight to AMS, connecting on to OTP, out of LHR.
The lounge was spacious and airy, which was nice, but kept unbearably warm.
The breakfast spread was quite spartan – perhaps the least impressive I’ve ever experienced.
Seating was ample, but the seats were filthy: stained from previous visitors; covered in crumbs and debris; and clearly past their prime.
Elevators were closed, making folks with any kind of bags lug it up the stairs, where the only food and beverage was available (the lower level was not serving).
Icing on the cake: the staff working the lounge were simply miserable – no smiles, no “Welcome to our lounge,” nothing, just a “We don’t announce boarding, so you need to check the boards.”
