Welcome to my next trip report, which will recap my recent trip to Seattle in which I did get a very good rest and enjoyed some nice flights as well.
A One-Day Trip To Seattle
I spoke at Frequent Traveler University in Seattle earlier this month which involved a one-day journey up to the Emerald City and a lovely time in a city I could certainly live in.
I prefer cold and gray weather to heat and sun, so in that sense Seattle is a perfect city for me. I love living in Los Angeles and also loved living in Washington, DC (not so much in Philadelphia), but if I had to I would not turn down the opportunity to live in Seattle.
Rather than stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Seattle Airport South in Des Moines (Washington, not Iowa) where the event was being held, I had a meeting in Seattle and stayed at the Hyatt Olive 8, which is in a part of town (at the corner of Olive Way and 8th Avenue as the name implies…) that has three Hyatts (the Olive 8, a Hyatt Regency, and Grand Hyatt) all just a few paces from one another.
This brief trip report will include the following segments:
- United Airlines 737 First Class Review: LAX-SEA-LAX
- Hyatt Olive 8 Seattle
- Great Coffee In Seattle
- Great Mexican Food In Seattle
- Adventures On Sound Transit In Seattle
- The Club (SEA)
- United Club (SEA)
This was a lovely little getaway and I quite enjoyed my time there. As always, please let me know if there is anything you would want me to focus on as I lay out this adventure.
My wife and I are visiting Seattle for the first time in a few months and being a Hyatt loyalist I went with the Hyatt Regency since no other quality hotels offered much value. Any brief comparison of the options would be handy and appreciated.
The best Hyatt in Seattle is definitely Regency at Southport. It’s a bit challenging without a car though. I personally don’t like Olive 8 because how low the hotel section is. I’d rather stay with the downtown Regency and get a Lake Union view room…
downtown Seattle has five Hyatts – hyatt house is next to the space needle and Hyatt place is near by too ☺️ hope you enjoyed your visit ! Next time try to stop at Dicks Drive In for a burger! It’s worthy of your professional burger review ♥️
Hyatt Regency is lovely and is the newest of all the Hyatts, I actually prefer Hyatt house near the space needle, it’s a great location and next to the mono rail. olive 8 is alittle dated and could use a refresh. The pan pacific and Fairmont are lovely also. If you want to treat yourself the four seasons has a lovely infinity pool over looking puget sound.
Yo! I’m from Philly but moved to NJ 24 yrs ago.
Make him/her love you again…….
I was born and raised in Philly but escaped the snow and taxes to Florida!
The Thompson next to the Pike Place Market is my favorite in the city for it’s proximity to interesting things. I know OMATT Ben didn’t like it, but I think its the best because of it’s location.
