Southwest Airlines Fashion Police “Bust” Teenage Girl For Revealing Top

I don’t know what it is about Southwest Airlines and its selective yet stringent enforcement of its nebulous dress code, but a 19-year-old girl has made waves on social media for what she claims was an unmerited attack on her figure by Southwest.

Southwest Airlines Fashion Police Again Target Teenage Girl For Revealing Attire

Southwest has an “I know it when I see it” approach to its dress code. While “offensive” clothing is not permitted, what is offensive is often in the eyes of the beholder or in the case of Southwest, in the eyes of a gate agent or flight attendant.

19-year-old Bailee Pearson took to Twitter to share that a Southwest Airlines employee named Kari in Boise (BOI) had yelled at her, “Your boobs are hanging out” and would not let her board her flight.

Hey @SouthwestAir you let your employees sexualize 19 year old girls by telling them they cant get on a flight because of a tank top and Yelling “your boobs are hanging out” ? apparently someone having larger than an a cup is offensive. Do better

It’s a familiar tune for the “luv” carrier (and particularly ironic considering the carrier’s historic use of flight attendants in revealing outfits and sexual double entendres to sell airline tickets). We’ve written quite a bit about the Southwest Airlines self-appointed fashion police in the past, including:

  • Model Claims Southwest Airlines Discriminated Against Her Due To Breast Size
  • Southwest Captain Covers Up “Lewd” Passenger With His T-Shirt

Southwest said it was “disheartened” over the incident and promised to investigate:

We’re disheartened to hear your account of things, and I assure you that we take concerns of this nature very seriously. Do you mind sending us a DM with your confirmation number, so we can take a look into this for you? -Jhericca https://t.co/mQmfkYdFNv

Pearson also shared this:

Period. I hope someone informs Kari at the boise airport of this. pic.twitter.com/qdv6joHb1w

Yet it is almost always Southwest, isn’t it?

As far as I concerned, if there are not reproductive organs exposed or profanity on the article of clothing, let it go…otherwise the glaring juxtaposition of selective enofromcent (as we saw with Olivia Culpo on American Airlines) is just too great.

I’m not endorsing what she is wearing…I just don’t think airlines or passengers are well served by singling out some for being dressed too provocatively when so many dress in revealing outfits these days.

CONCLUSION

A teenage girl was ordered to cover up by Southwest Airlines. She claims she was targeted for her curves and not her attire. In any case, Southwest Airlines (and all airlines) would be better off taking a hands-off approach when it comes to attire that does not actually expose the body parts it is intended to cover.

What are your thoughts on the latest Southwest Airlines dress code debate?

I’d be interested in what Southwest think is going to happen once she gets on board and sits down.

Typical religious conservative behavior. Looking at young girls as sexual objects. They can’t get their minds out of the gutter.

Leftist love to sexualize children, it’s why they are a the party of groomers and pedophiles. We wouldn’t need to pass laws banning child exploitation if it wasn’t for the left and their degeneracy.

Two question more rhetorical than anything else…
    1. Historically the had a different out look on stuff… does that mean that can’t change and do it differently?
    2. If a women chooses to wear a low cut top or some piece of revealing attire, is it OK to then look at said items that are revealed?

I think we can all agree that she was dressed like an attention-seeking slut. How far is too far? I can’t answer that. But her “outrage” over this only further paints her as the floozie she is,

You know, she can’t be too comfortable with those things clanging around. She should wear something for support.

Her tweet about “sexualizing a 19 year old girl” rings pretty hollow with me. First off, she’s doing that with what she’s wearing (not a criticism, just the truth). Secondly, you don’t get to have it both ways: you’re running around like an adult, you’re 19 (which is legally an adult), so don’t make it sound as if WN is being a bunch of pedos. Cheap shot delivered very subtly. All that said, based on the photo, WN overreacted in an inappropriate way. But, I have to say “based on the photo” because we don’t actually know how skimpy her top was. Personally, I wouldn’t mind having her like that on my flight. 😉

Actually, it’s sad that we’ve come to the point of societal degradation that the concept of the airlines policing fashion even has to be a topic.

People all up in arms over FREEDOM to not wear a mask and protect other people… but a girl wants to wear a tank top, and HOW DARE SHE DO THAT. Selective freedom (i.e. freedom only if you agree with me) strikes again.

They look kind of saggy to me for 19 years old. Mine are bigger.

She’s not a teenage girl but a teenage woman. I don’t think that once she’s able to vote that the term girl is appropriate anymore.

Had the woman been black, or some other minority, would the same call have been made…?

It’s her fault for not flying Spirit out of Boise. Her boobs would have been unremarkable amongst the foxy hoes that call Spirit “ fly me airlines “. Next time, teen-tart, understand the assignment.

Just wear a shirt already. And that goes for everyone on the flight. Wear shoes, and pants (no shorts). Just be appropriate. I don’t want my 16 year old son starting at her chest, just wear some clothes until it’s time to go to the beach or the party

Probably some fat old woman was angry someone who was more attractive than her was getting attention.

Women are natural Narcissists, it’s part of their nature. They appeal to emotion rather than reason, it’s why so many of them are democrats.

I love it! Nothing like appealing eye candy to divert one’s attention from the mundane. Next up: stripper poles in the galley!!

From the picture you can tell the shirt is very sheer. You can see her left nipple, her right nipple is hiding by being pressed against the man with painted fingernails who’s hand is on her ass. I’m assuming in person you could see everything.
