Teenager Claims Man Fondled Her On Spirit Airlines Flight And Crew Dismissed Her

A very disturbing allegation on Spirit Airlines after a teenager claimed a man seated behind her continually reached forward to grope her. When she complained, flight attendants told her to sit down and be quiet. Spirit Airlines says it is investigating the incident.

Teenager Claims Man Fondled Her On Spirit Airlines

The incident occurred on an unspecified Spirit Airlines flight to California. The young woman posted a video on TikTok showing a man’s hand reaching from behind to her seat. There is no apparent groping or physical contact, but the teenager claims it went on for an hour.

In a series of additional videos on TikTok, she explained:

  • She felt a touch on her breast prior to takeoff, as if someone was “caressing” her
  • When she reached over, she touched the fingertips of the man behind her
  • She texted her sister, seated elsewhere on the plane, that she was being groped
  • The man continued to grab her
  • She started to film in order to have proof the man was harassing her
  • When she showed the video above to staff, he denied it
  • She was told to “please calm down, sit down, be quiet.”

I’ve reached out to the woman and asked her for more details. I also reached out to Spirit Airlines who sent me the following statement:

Spirit Airlines is aware of a video involving claims of a passenger behaving inappropriately on a flight. We are in direct contact with the Guest who posted the video and are actively investigating. Spirit does not tolerate abusive behavior of any kind.

Spirit Airlines got into trouble in 2020 after a similar incident occurred onboard to a 22-year-old woman. There, the man was sitting next to the woman and groped her while she slept. When she woke up and complained, the flight attendants asked her to move, not the man.

CONCLUSION

While it isn’t clear from the video that the woman was groped, the hand is suspicious. Whether or not this particular incident occurred is almost secondary to the main point: if are being groped, speak up. Perverts should not get away with such disrespect under any circumstance.

Figures she doesn’t have a video of the actual alleged fondling.

Allegations aside, in what situation is it acceptable to rest your hands in the crack between seats in front of you?

I can’t imagine a situation where that’s the natural position my hand would just “end up.” That part is objectively weird to me even sans groping, which leads me to believe the woman’s claim.

Cops should have been involved and creepy dude arrested. What surprises me the most is that the FA’s basically told her to shut up and deal with it. I fervently hope she sues and wins a massive sum so maybe, just maybe, Spirit will take things like this to heart in the future since they obviously couldn’t care less right now.

“claims of a passenger behaving inappropriately”. It is more than that. It is a crime being committed. It isn’t just being inappropriately.

I might have mentioned this before but years ago at PHX while waiting around the gate I saw this 50ish scraggy looking guy eyeing this younger (18?) attractive lady. Then he started talking to her. I was going to call security because things seemed strange. I then eavesdropped and saw him flash a badge and he was an undercover cop and told her one of her bags that was checked in for the flight had drugs in it and she needed to come with him to wherever security was. He told her he wouldn’t cuff her if she didn’t cause trouble. I always wondered why would anyone check a bag that had drugs in it but hey you never know.

I would have wrenched a finger back hard enough to make him scream. We need to teach our daughters to fight back and cause a scene when they are touched inappropriately.

This “gentleman “ either was groping or he had gorilla-length arms and rested them on the sides of the seat
