Starlux A321neo Business Class: My Luxe Journey To Bangkok

Matthew Klint Posted onNovember 8, 2025 15 Comments

Hello from Bangkok, where I just enjoyed a very pleasant flight on Starlux onboard an A321neo in business class from Taipei. I’ll give you an overview of the flight here, with a full review coming in the weeks ahead.

Starlux A321neo Business Class – My First Impressions

I could have flown the A350-900 again from Taipei to Bangkok, but I deliberately chose the later A321neo just so I could review Starlux’s narrowbody aircraft.

After checking out both Starlux lounges in Taipei, I boarded my flight for the four-hour journey to Bangkok.

The A321neo business class cabin has eight lie-flat seats (B/E Diamond) in a 2-2 configration.

A plush blanket and a pillow were waiting at each seat.

Lunch was served after takeoff. When Starlux launched, meals on these shorter flights were served in courses, wih a canpae first, followed by appetizer, followed by main course.

a couple of menus on a table

On my flight, there was no canape, just the entire meal served on a tray (a quinoa edamame salad with sliced chicken breast and a main course of grilled halibut with truffle potatoes). The food was excellent (I just had carrot juice to drink, but Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut Champagne was on offer).

For dessert, I had fresh fruit, gelato (green tea + strawberry), and iced coffee.

Before landing, I had a hot cappuccino (Starlux uses illy espresso).

An excellent lunch, indeed.

Wi-Fi internet was free for business class passengers and worked well during the flight. Not only did I get some work done, but I also enjoyed listening to Chopin while working. The extensive IFE library onboard included hundreds of movies, TV shows, musical selections, and games.

Service was excellent, with Elaine (the purser) as well as Victoria and Airel providing attentive and gracious service. I could not have asked for better service: my glass never went empty.

We landed at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport on schedule and I was soon on my way to the St. Regis in Grab.

I greatly prefer the A350-900 business class seat, but the service and food were equally impressive on the A321neo.

I’ll have a lot more pictures and details when I share my full flight review.

Next: St. Regis Bangkok

I’m sharing about my whirlwind trip through Asia.

Can’t say it enough: Taiwan is a beautiful, free, independent, sovereign country. Love these reviews!

Yet Taiwan is not part of the United Nations or most of international bodies

That’s down to cowardice. Abject cowardice.

Kelvin, try using a visa for the Republic of China to enter the Peoples’ Republic of China, or vice versa; it’s not gonna work. Why? Because, one more time: They are different countries.

When you travel between New York and New Jersey (states), or even Florida (state) and Puerto Rico (territory), you don’t need a visa. Because those are all within the same country (the United States of America.)

Whether the UN, NATO, BRICS, etc. or any other organization ‘recognizes’ or not, is irrelevant, other than to call out their cowardice, as PeteAU and I, ironically, for once, agree, at least, on this topic.

It is fantastic! Full LGBT rights, all women have cheap and easy access to abortion, fantastic national healthcare system, no private gun ownership and one of the lowest crime rates in the world!

    The cabin looks so clean.
Their color scheme is also sharp.

Thank you for this review, Matthew. How would you rate it vs the SQ regional product on a MAX 8?

      No comparison!

It’s always better on an Airbus!

The Max 8 J product on SQ is stellar.

Tough to say – both are most excellent.

Thanks, Matthew. For us it is always BA going East from the West Coast, and SQ going West from the West Coast, so it’s nice to see a comparison

Thanks for sharing ! Proud of one of the best airlines in the world from my hometown and glade you enjoyed ! It will be my next journey as well, I was hoping to have the early flight to have A350-900 business seat instead, but I bet all the quality will be the same, I can’t wait to get on board,
