Review: SweetWater Mountain Taphouse DEN (Priority Pass Restaurant)

I enjoyed a delicious slab of pork ribs at SweetWater Mountain Taphouse in Denver (DEN), one of my favorite Priority Pass restaurants.

SweetWater Mountain Taphouse Review – Denver (DEN)

While American Express and Capital One cardholders can no longer use their Priority Pass benefits for restaurants, if your Priority Pass membership is via Chase Sapphire Reserve, you still can (you receive a $28 restaurant credit per-person, for up to two people).

SweetWater Mountain Taphouse is one of two Priority Pass restaurants at DEN. This restaurant is very convenient to United flyers due to its location in Terminal B. You will find the lounge airside after Gate 79 on Level 2B, next to Starbucks. Follow the signs toward the high B gates and once you pass the new United Club Fly Lounge, turn right and you will first pass the Starbucks before coming to a fork with stairs going down to the United Express gates or the restaurant on the right.

It is open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm daily and what I love about this lounge (in fact, I was proactively offered) is that you can take your food to go. With so much nice seating in the newly-expanded United gate area, you can get your food to-go and not even have to leave a tip.

The menu includes a few breakfast entrees, sandwiches, and some heartier dishes like pork ribs and mahi mahi tacos.

Inside are dining tables and a bar. As the name implies, the restaurant specializes in beer.

I ordered a slab of St. Louis pork ribs along with cooked vegetables and salad. This was a relatively healthy, high in protein lunch that was quite a nice alternative to the lounge food. The portion was generous.

CONCLUSION

Denver has two great Priority Pass restaurants, but the value is better at SweetWater Mountain Taphouse than at Mercantile and I really enjoyed the ribs here. I look forward to returning.

Depends what I would have eaten in its place…at least my fat had protein and not just carbs.

Sorry, you’re wrong? The ribs were perfectly reasonable.

I thought the ribs looked delicious. The photo made be craving ribs. Then your comment about tipping reminded me about the last time I ordered ribs. The carryout only restaurant charges included a 15% tip. Fine as I previously tipped the jar. However I also noticed on the receipt was an undisclosed service charge of an additional 15 %. Two racks of ribs for $90. +. While the ribs are good the fees I can and will resist. I can and will resist. Btw they still had the tip jar on the counter.
