Donald Trump’s 757 Has A New Paint Job

Former President Donald Trump has unveiled a fresh paint job with updated livery on his Boeing 757 aircraft, as rumors are growing that he is preparing to announce his 2024 presidential bid.

Trump 757 Prepares To Return To Skies With New Coat Of Paint

Trump’s 757 jet (registration N757AF), over 30 years old and purchased in 2011 from Microsoft founder Paul Allen, was his preferred means of transportation during his 2016 campaign. Upon his victory, it was placed in storage in New York since he had Air Force One, usually operated by a modified Boeing 747-200, at his disposal for the next four years.

After leaving office, he started using a much smaller Citation jet, but promised in 2021 that his 757 would fly again. The aircraft underwent extensive maintenance work near Lake Charles, Louisiana and has recently received a fresh paint job, which preserved the aircraft’s familiar livery with one exception. The large “T” on the tail wing has been replaced with an American flag.

The process of repainting an aircraft is not easy and I was quite impressed by this video put together by Landlocked Aviation Services, the firm which did the work:

Tyson Grenzebach, who works for Landlocked, told WTOC:

“This was a little bit different and unique because of the timeline and customer requirements. So, we did what we call scuff sanding. That helped because we had a base to start with, and then we primed, laid out for all the colors, and painted all the unique colors you see on the aircraft.

“As it turns out, it’s the nicest 757 Landlock aviation has ever painted and one of the best aircraft I’ve painted in my 28-year career. We had to accomplish all that in a kind of short period of time and around all the supply chain-challenged environment that we’re all experiencing.”

Eric Trump, the former President’s son, shared a shorter video on Twitter:

— Eric Trump (@EricTrump) July 6, 2022

The move, perhaps not so coincidentally, comes as Trump has purportedly told his inner circle that he had decided to run again for president in 2024 and will make the formal announcement this autumn, a full year two years ahead of the election.

CONCLUSION

It appears that Trump’s 757 is airworthy and ready for campaigning once again. While the ex-President did not totally change the livery and use the Air Force One design that President Joe Biden recently scrapped, the substitution of the T for the American flag on the tail gives us a good clue that Trump is not ready to step away from political life.

Very disappointed in this post. Please do not give any visibility to this treasonous insurrectionist and his (leased, no doubt) old 757. Sad.

The moment I saw the title, I thought it was similar to a story I read a while ago of surfers in Santa Cruz complaining about fishermen throwing chum in the water to attract fish (which also attracted sharks.)

I thought to myself “Just wait for the flame wars to begin”. Which I shan’t indulge.

That being said, to put this on-topic in a manner of speaking, there is an impact upon western democracy which is symptomatic in our travel conditions when there are doubts in the democratic process: On the right, there are concerns about a lack of election security from ballot to final counting and on the left, poor voter enfranchisement. I personally don’t mind addressing both of them, but since neither side (effectively) has, this lack of faith in the basis of our democratic process has meant a weakness that has ripple effects such as responses to COVID and wars breaking out because Putin thought America was too fractured to do anything to stop him. That ultimately affects Matt’s ability to use some lounges or for others to enjoy vacations and international travel. 1st world problems are the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

I think all of us here should reflect on our privilege, and I use that term in a broad sense, that perhaps there are delays on flights, or you don’t get an upgrade, and such while others are suffering in that they’ve lost their businesses, families, and homes. Every day I wake up and am thankful for the challenges I meet to be both moderate in comparison and achievable.

War update: My father-in-law in Odessa is fine and we will fly him out this fall for vacation and then he’ll fly back. Relatives in Lviv are going to school and university and have high hopes for the future. Yes, there are occasional hits by missile attacks, but I imagine it’s similar to what people in Israel came to handle. Business mostly continues and we paid for graves for my wife’s grandparents and the work was done quickly (they needed the money!)

        Life goes on.

Hopefully they got paid extra for that ridiculous statement about it being the nicest airplane they’ve ever painted. Just like the absurd claim that this plane is worth $100 million.

A very well-calculated post. Pretty much zero informational value to any traveler, but guaranteed clicks, views, and “engagement.” And from a blog that I’d say has no affinity for Trump. Impressive, and I mean that. If more businesses pursued success over ideology, we’d be in a better place.

Anyway, it is a nice-looking plane regardless of politics. I always enjoy flying on 757 but to have a private executive version must be awesome.

Let’s hope voters in the only states that matter in the electoral college reject the trump Crime Family. Or even better, deny them the chance at running for the presidency in the primaries.

You can be sure all the companies working on this 757 required payment in advance.

I read somewhere, and need to Google again to find references, that politicians are allowed to fund raise until they annouce they are not running anymore (concession? dropping out of the race); then certain financial reporting/closure activities have to take place…so some scammy politicians keep the gravy train running as long as they can, never officially closing their campaign so they can continue to fund-raise from otherwise not-available sources, and spend the money in dubiously campaign-connected ways (salaries, expenses, travel, etc.), without having to report the spending/fundraising that would bring their con to light….

But again, I don’t recall the reference; it does have some truthiness to me….

So former President Trump may have some motivation to keep the borders soft on his running for re-election…never formally announcing so he can fund raise (without the accountability of spending the money on campaigning), and never having to announce he’s *not* running…much like he did we he raised funds on the headline of fighting the supposed election fraud but didn’t have to spend the contributions on that topic.

The guy that LOST the House, LOST the Senate, LOST the White House, and LOST the popular vote…TWICE? The guy who denigrated our veterans and war heroes, and who said “Our 15 cases will soon be zero,” and “By April [2020], this will all disappear,” despite not a single leading healthcare professional or scientist stating that? That’s they guy you’re hitching your wagon to? LOL, good luck with all that. As for the “looney” left, the Democrats have a razon-thin majority in the House and Senate, and Biden’s popularity is about the same as Trump’s. But your paranoia about “the left” made me laugh, so thank you!
