TSA Officer Indicted for Stealing $23,000 Worth of Watches at LAX

Matthew Klint Posted onAugust 4, 2011 5 Comments

While the official Transportation Security Administration motto might be “not on my watch,” the more apt phrase is “that’s my watch” after another TSA Officer was indicted for stealing last week.

Paul Yashou, a now disgraced ex-TSO at LAX, must have thought he was a slick operator–steal a few watches here and there and no one would be the wiser. But he probably did not figure the $15,000 IWC GST watch he pawned to a local jeweler would wind up on eBay, where the watch’s owner found it and quickly called the police.

We don’t know the extent of Yahou’s thievery, but he will face two felony counts, for stealing the IWC GST watch and a $5,000 watch, as well as three misdemeanor charges for stealing three less-expensive time pieces.

Of course this was just a bad apple. Just like Toussain Puddie, the TSA agent recently charged for stealing a $450 pen at Fort Lauderdale. Just like the TSA thieves at New York Kennedy. Or Newark. Or Buffalo. Or Phoneix.

You get my point.

Consdering how many ppl tsa employs, it would be considered a fee bad apples.

Whether they employee too many is a valid point. But any company that employs that many will have some problems with the staff. To think this doesn’t go on in all comapines in all governments is naive

Did he grab the stuff when you go through security and empty your stuff and put it in the trays to go through the x-ray? or was it people’s checked luggage?

Such a well written article shoudn’t go
unrecognized. 2 ! But one quick question? Has your wife visited those 135 countries with you? Or would you say about half? Perhaps you should consider a career as a detective or private investigator and keep tabs on the esteemed Mrs. Klint. I mean, instead of writing articles on what other people are doing and have done maybe we should focus more on who Mrs. Klint is doing while your out vacationing getting some sun. Please don’t take it personal, just something to consider the next time your flying solo on that A330.
