United Airlines Adds New Complimentary Snacks In Economy Class

United Airlines is adding a trio of new complimentary snacks to its onboard line-up for economy class passengers that will augment its current selection of free treats.

United Airlines Adds New Free Snacks To Economy Class Line-Up

Over 12 million complimentary snacks are served each month on United and now the airline is adding to the choice of free options available onboard. New snacks will include:

  • Dark Chocolate + Sea Salt Chocolate Crisps by Undercover Snacks
    • With a protein and fiber-rich crispy quinoa as its base, each crisp is covered with dark chocolate and a hint of sea salt
  • Apple and Mango Fruit Bars by That’s it
    • Each bar is made from apple and mango… nothing else and will only be available on United Airlines
  • Savory Snack Mix by Summer Harvest
    • The mix includes rye bagel chips, garlic bread bites, and pretzel twists.

These new snacks will rotate in starting with the Undercover Snacks in March and the fruit bars and savory snack mix in April. Biscoff bars and pretzels will also remain.

Worry not, these treats will not replace stroopwafels, which will continue to be available to passengers onboard.

Aaron McMillan, United Airlines Managing Director of Hospitality and Planning, explained:

“Just in time for spring break travel, we’re thrilled to introduce United’s new lineup of complimentary Economy snacks, hand-selected to give flyers more variety and healthier options when the snack cart rolls-up to their seat. We know the snack cart is often the highlight of a flight, so getting it right is very important to us. With the addition of Undercover Snacks, That’s it. Fruit Bars and a classic Savory Snack Mix, we’re confident there’s something for everyone.”

For those with dietary restrictions, the crips by Undercover Snacks are gluten-free, non-GMO, allergy-friendly, Kosher, and made with Certified Rainforest Alliance Chocolate.

CONCLUSION

United Airlines is adding three new snacks to its economy class line-up. These little treats help a flight go by quicker and are a small token of quality that can leave a favorable impression and thereby build loyalty. It is a smart investment and I’m glad to see these onboard additions.

I wonder how cheap they get these odd brands as a form of advertising for the companies?

AA FC on shorter flights has the most obscure brands in the snack basket.

Out of curiosity, is there any update to the F class snacks? I’ve done a fair amount of west coast flying recently, and it’s always pretzels & stroopwafels, the same as Y.

Allergy friendly? While the apple mango fruit bars sound tasty, mango allergies are quite common. If you’re allergic to latex or kiwi chances are mango is also a trigger. Or that’s what I was told in the hospital. I used a natural chapstick product that was made from mango butter (in the fine print on package)

UA are likely paying very little for these never heard of brands to be featured in its cabins. Some of the snacks seem fine, but garlic bread chips?

Speaking of stroopwafels, are these still even around? I am usually in the front so maybe I just missed them my few flights in the back, but I’ve had 2 flights in the back few months that my upgrade didn’t clear and I only saw pretzels and biscoff.

No worries. If you like them they can be purchased at Lidl! I saw them today

Some people complaining clearly haven’t been anywhere ever. Summer Harvest makes Southwest’s mix, which is great. That’s it is available in every Trader Joe’s. Sure, the crisps are a new one for me, but don’t knock things before you try it.

Basically more sugar and carbohydrates to induce your bodily response to produce higher insulin levels which can cause diabetes and obesity. Can’t you not eat anything for 6 hours except maybe water? That’s the healthiest thing to do. And you will feel so much better.

And then what? Stop doing things you enjoy so you can live longer? It’s about HOW you live, not how long you live. I constantly see 60+ year old business individuals (won’t say men) flying for their job. Why are they still working? What did they do with the money made over the past 40 years?

Who wants to be 65 or 70 when they start enjoying life on their terms? Sad how programmed people are to accept a few weeks vacation a year as acceptable.

I can remember some years ago being given a milky way the size of a postage stamp (you read right). I should have kept it to show others how unbelievable it was.
