United CEO on London Attack

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz has issued a statement to United employees on the weekend attacks in London.

United has a flight attendant crew base in London and I count United’s London-based crews as some of the best in the system. Their jovial nature captures what I love best about visiting London.

Dear United family,

The thoughts and prayers of the entire United family worldwide are with the city and people of London in the wake of this terrible attack. London has always occupied a special place in the hearts of our employees – it is a home to so many of our families. The values of openness to the world and tolerance, of liberty and rule of law, of culture and creativity – there is a reason so many of our employees who travel for a living always feel more at home when they are in London. For these are universal values and everyone who shares them feels profound solidarity at this moment for the family and friends of those affected who are grieving at this moment. Samuel Johnson famously said, “when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.” The world will never tire of either. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the city and its people, no matter what, as they heal and hold true to the British way of life.

Sincerely,
Oscar

Once again, great sentiment by Munoz and I echo his commentary.
