Bad news for those of you who took advantage of UA’s introductory fares to Nigeria:
United Airlines said it will delay the start of planned flights to Lagos, Nigeria, because of regulatory issues.
The flights had been set to start this spring. Nigeria’s acting president dissolved the Cabinet on March 17.
United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said on Tuesday that the new service is on hold while they work through regulatory issues.
If this had happened last year, I would have said it was merely a ruse to give UA cover for backing out of a route they no longer thought would be profitable, but with UA’s impressive revenue figures and stock performance of late, this sounds like a legitimate excuse to me.
Bloody hell. Now how will I go see my long lost cousin who has promised me millions!?!?!
You could always take Delta: The Official Airline of 419 Scams.
@Fozz: LOL. I was thinking about that when I wrote the post!
