Dining Menu At United Polaris LAX Lounge

Matthew Klint Posted onJanuary 15, 2019November 14, 2023 8 Comments

The new United Airlines Polaris Lounge at LAX offers an a la carte menu in addition to an elaborate buffet. Here’s a look at the menu.

First, note that all food and drink is complimentary in this lounge. Tipping is not expected. We’re talking about California of course, so I’m not sure it would be actually turned down if you offered one, but there is no expectation of gratuity.

Here’s the menu:

a menu of a meal

Highlights include:

Power Green Smooth Bowl (kale, pineapple, and apple smoothie with coconut-banana granola)

a bowl of green smoothie with fruit and a glass of orange juice

Boardwalk Benedict (zucchini potato cakes, poached egg and hollandaise sauce, and your choice of smoked salmon or shredded pork)

food on a plate

Avocado and Burrata Tower (heirloom tomato vinaigrette, micro greens, served with crostini)

a plate of food and a glass of wine

Street Taco Trio (diced nopales, pico de gallo, queso fresco, tomatillo salsa + citrus achiote-marinated carne asada, onions, cilantro + soy-seared ahu tuna, avocado crema, pickled vegetables)

a plate of tacos on a table

Just about everything on the menu sounds good to me. When I go, I want to try the Nutella croissant, chilaquiles, avocado tower, and street taco trio. Come on, I’m fairly predictable by now.

But, I’m willing to try something for you, if there is consensus in the comments below. Is there anything you would like me to try?

CONCLUSION

I’m still hoping to get to the Polaris Lounge this weekend, though that remains to be seen. In the meantime, I’m very much looking forward to my dining experience in the lounge.

Honestly, it looks and sounds like spa food. Creative, sure, but not personally appealing (except maybe the burger).

Ha Ha! If I wanted a burger I would eat that out in the terminal. I think there’s some interesting things on there and definitely a departure from the typical steak, chicken, short ribs, etc. airline grub with a ton of calories.

Both the chilaquiles and the Nutella croissant were fantastic. You can’t go wrong with either. Save room for desert as I’m most curious about the churros. 🙂

I went on Friday, only got to try the croissant and Chilaquilles. Croissant is just garden variety (probably Costco) croissant with IMO too much Nutella, it had fresh fruit that was good though. Chilaquilles were pretty good, good flavour, right amount of spice.

I want to see you try the bulgogi arancini.

      Me too!

This menu looks delicious. The most disappointing thing in the SFO lounge is their crummy menu. For such an amazing food city their dining room offerings are dreadful.

I tried the Street Taco Trio at the preview event. It was good but the portion was small for an entree. It also took 40 minutes to receive… Not impressed with the speed of service.

This menu is my favorite by far of all the lounges I’ve been to (IAH, EWR and ORD). It has a ton to offer for vegetarians or pescatarians and seems creative and fun. I love it and it ALMOST makes me want to deal with the headache of LAX to try it 🙂
