A new edition of the United Airlines safety video is out, highlighting once again United’s global route network. While not as humorous as past versions, the new video does contain a few inside jokes or “Easter eggs” that frequent United fliers will smile at. Did you catch them?
Here’s the video–
Here are the four inside jokes I noticed.
- “Nessie” (the Loch Ness Monster from the
- The Kanagroo (also from the
- In the NYC Half Marathon, mom’s number is 787 while baby’s number is 737
- “Lim” the flirtatious llama (from the
What I like about this video is that it is not too long, not too short, and should at least be entertaining for the next several months a I try to scope out additional “Easter eggs”.
Did I miss anything? Let me know if you stumble upon any other inside jokes in the new United safety video?
Nessie is in the in-seat monitor behind the FA as well!
In the marathon, the runner behind 787 is “ORD”.
At 1:41 the bag frozen into the block of ice looks very similar to the bags given to American Airlines flight attendants. You know “leave them behind.”
…Probably reading too much into it!
Nessie is on one of the hot air balloons as well.
Starting at 2:18 you see an allusion to United’s new policy of using fire hoses to deal with disgruntled passengers.
1:09 Nessie is on the in-seat monitor
1:49 Nessie is on the portrait at the german festival for just a moment before the speaker stands in front of it
2:59 Nessie is on a poster on the wall
3:19 Nessie is on a hot air balloon
3:42 There is a guy in a panda shirt, panda hat, and holding a stuffed panda.
lol, I was going to post an update on this because I just noticed Nessie in the India scene on a recent flight. Good timing.
In the India scene is the blonde woman from the wedding who got left behind?
I missed that!
4:03 A lantern at the right side of the screen has Nessie on it.
I can’t stop watching the smile of the FA who says “thanks Oscar” to the CEO. Her jaw shifts like half an inch to her left when she goes from talking to smiling.
The lanterns rising up in the air create an outline map of the United States.
