USA Restricts Travel From Eight African Nations (Full List)
Beginning Monday, November 29th, the United States will restrict travel from:
- Botswana
- Eswatini (Swaziland)
- Lesotho
- Malawi
- Mozambique
- South Africa
- Namibia
- Zimbabwe
Details About New African Travel Restrictions
Like prior country-specific restrictions, the entrance ban will apply to all non-US citizens, regardless of citizenship, who have entered or transited the eight nations one the prior two weeks.

Effective Monday, November 29, by Presidential Proclamation, the United States will deny entry to non-U.S. citizens who have visited or transited through [the country list above] in the last 14 days. U.S. citizens or lawful permanent resides who have been present in one of these locations will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken within one (1) calendar day of departure of the U.S. regardless of vaccination status.
Incoming foreign nationals must still be fully vaccinated. Unlike the rest of the world, where all passengers must present a negative COVID-19 test not older than three calendar days (one calendar day for those U.S. citizens who are unvaccinated), all travelers must present a negative test taken with one calendar day, even if vaccinated.
In a statement, President Joe Biden did not specify the duration of these entry bans except to say they would be “guided by what the science and my medical team advises.”
“This morning I was briefed by my chief medical advisor, Dr. Tony Fauci, and the members of our COVID response team, about the Omicron variant, which is spreading through Southern Africa. As a precautionary measure until we have more information, I am ordering additional air travel restrictions from South Africa and seven other countries. These new restrictions will take effect on November 29. As we move forward, we will continue to be guided by what the science and my medical team advises.”
Delta Air Lines and United Airlines have a combined total of 122 flights between the USA and South Africa planned for next month (87 from United, 35 from Delta).
At this time, no changes are planned in flight schedule. But the news has sent shares of Delta, United, and other airline stocks tumbling today as worry amounts about the new variant.
Canada, the European Union and the United Kingdom have also announced travel restrictions.
As I noted earlier, the scaremongering right now is deplorable. We know very little right now about the new strain beyond its unusually high number of mutations. It is not clear whether this mutation evades present vaccinations or is more lethal. Speculation of that nature only serves to plant fear and undermine efforts to address it in a responsible way.
CONCLUSION
The United States has joined other nations in curbing travel from South African and seven other nations in the region, even as it is almost certain Nu is already among us. For now, flights will continue and U.S. citizens are not impacted.

This most certainly is scaremongering, the Covid Network News (CNN) is all over this and they didn’t like when one of their doctors didn’t walk the scaremongering script when he suggest people need to take this new variant with a grain of salt by mentioning the MU variant and even the Delta variant. The Delta variant was supposed to be vaccine resistant at least that is the scare tactic they used when Delta came on the scene. Delta ended up being more transmissible among the unvaccinated but the vaccines worked just fine against Delta. And then there is MU which again they tried to scare people with saying it was more transmissible and deadlier than Delta which fizzled out. Another thing this wayward doctor said on CNN is most of these countries in Africa on the travel ban have vaccination rates in the teens or low twenty percent range. Even South Africa’s vaccination rate is less than 35% and most of the people vaccinated in South Africa were vaccinated with Johnson and Johnson one dose which we now know should have been a two dose vaccine from the beginning. But even with that for now they can not say if this new variant is transmitting more in the unvaccinated or if the vaccinated are being effected as well. But despite all of the unknowns that hasn’t stopped the scaremongers from using this new variant to try and scare people to go back into their houses and lock all the doors.

Not quite sure why they included Malawi on this list considering there are zero cases of this variant confirmed here or in any country that borders here, and just a dozen cases of local transmission in the country per week (0.06 weekly cases/100k versus 176/100k in the USA) with 0.4% PCR test positivity. The number of mutations on this strain is high so caution is wise. Lots of people are still not vaccinated. Relly bad judgment because the vaccines are effective and the potential to cause severe disease in the unvaccinated is great. Even the vaccinated are not fully protected. With the consequences high if one is sick, even vaccinated should exercise good judgment and not think they are bulletproof.
The number of mutations is really irrelevant. Look at outcomes. Most of the cases in South Africa are very mild. No fully vaccinated individual is hospitalized. The case in Belgium was unvaccinated and also mild, she did not spread it to anyone else in her home. Hong Kong – asymptomatic.
It could have 1000 mutations. Who cares? That’s what viruses do… they mutate to spread often times becoming less virulent in the process.

What percentage of people with administered covid vaccines have had side effects? And has meta analysis further ruled out side effects unrelated to covid?
Where is your concern for the many people who have contracted steven johnson syndrome after a single dose of aspirin or ibuprofen?
We don’t have answers to those questions because
1) it is estimated only 1%-3% of adverse reactions are actually reported to VAERS
2) big pharma owns the CDC, NIH, MSM, and just about everyone and everything else
That doesn’t mean that the questions and concerns are any less valid. Side effects and deaths are currently WAY underreported.
RE: aspirin or ibuprofen, those drugs have been around forever. the covid vax has not been. in fact Pfizer is just removing those from the clinical trial who have a severe enough side effect, just so that they can skew the numbers in their favor. i’m focused on the present and future at the moment, not aspirin or ibuprofen.
