Good news for the luxury hotel scene in Frankfurt, as the former Villa Kennedy Hotel will reopen as a hotel after all.
Frankfurt’s Villa Kennedy Will Reopen As Luxury Hotel In 2024
Villa Kennedy, located on Kennedyallee in the posh district of Sachsenhausen in Frankfurt, was a luxury hotel and part of the Rocco Forte Hotels. Like many luxury properties, the hotel suffered during the pandemic and closed.
While the hotel was rumored to be converted into a convalescent home for senior citizens, the property will return as a hotel in 2024.
Conren Land, the owner of the hotel, has announced that it will partner with the Althoff Hotel chain. The Althoff Collection includes a number of luxury, independent five-star hotels located in Germany.
Per the Frankfurter Neue Presse:
“A total of 147 hotel rooms and suites are planned – including a presidential suite of around 320 square meters. Details on the concept as well as on the gastronomy, the spa, the meeting rooms and the new hotel name are to be announced later this year.”
I am thrilled that the Villa Kennedy (note – the new hotel may not be called the Villa Kennedy) will return and while I am just speculating, the building is under monument protection and perhaps that is the reason it became more difficult to make the property work as a retirement home.
CONLUSION
The luxurious Villa Kennedy Hotel in Frankfurt will rebrand and reopen, again as a luxury hotel, in 2024. For those like me who have come to love this hotel over the years, this is ver y good news.

Now we just need the Althoff Collection to partner with Hyatt! 😉
Wow, the Althoff Collection are all bucket listed. Stunning.
This is fantastic news. Was my go to for years as it put me just 10 minutes tops to the airport and you could easily walk along the river or to the city center. It’s a beautiful property and Frankfurt needs them to continue as the hotels there can be rather mediocre otherwise.
Matthew, I should submit a note in the blog about Delta finally doing the right thing on our trip from Bahrain. How can I access the blog chain?
Thanks
I’ll put up a story this week about it – I had a chat with them after.
