Review: VIP Lounge Los Cabos International Airport (SJD – T1)

I quite liked the VIP Lounge in Terminal 2 of Los Cabos International Airport and on this trip, I got to use the Terminal 1 VIP Lounge for my domestic flight to Mexico City.

VIP Lounge Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) Review – Terminal 1

Hours + Access + Location

This lounge is part of the Priority Pass network and open daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, meaning the earliest flights and lastest flights from SJD do not have access. It is open on the upper level of the departures area, past security.

We spent four hours in this lounge: from around 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm and it went from being nearly empty to very crowded twice. It is a small lounge, but sufficient for domestic operations from T1.

Seating

There are leather couches surrounding the perimeter of the lounge, with a buffet and dining area in the middle.

Power ports, located on the floor, were easily within reach and the internet was fast.

Food + Drinks

Food choices included:

  • soup (vegetable)
  • refried beans
  • green and red sauce
  • tortilla chips
  • meat empanadas
  • celery and carrot sticks
  • sandwiches
  • green salad
  • penne pasta with tomato sauce
  • apples
  • cookies

The soup was not bad, nor was the empanada.

Drink selection included:

  • water
  • beer
  • wine
  • soft drinks
  • spirits
  • coffee

a bar with bottles and glasses

a shelf with bottles of liquor

No Champagne, just 10 USD Cava from Dubois

The coffee was made by the attendnatns and my cortado was excellent:

I had a cappuccino before I left and it was really bad…it was either the UHT milk or sugar was added…

Restrooms + Showers

The bathrooms were clean, though there were warning signs not to put toilet paper in the toilet (but to use the trash can instead). No showers.

a bathroom with a mirror and sinks

a row of urinals in a bathroom

a bathroom with a sink and mirrors

a sign on a wall

CONCLUSION

I was very happy to have access to this lounge for our four-hour layover in SJD. It was comfortable and my time was productive. While I would not leave my hotel early just to use it, it is a far more pleasant environment than the spartan and rather crowded terminal outside.

SJD is Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico airport (as is PVR & GDL). Their lounges mirror this. Mediocre food, but a pretty impressive beverage offering. I actually enjoy spending time in them
