Sometimes you call a spade a spade. A woman who rudely put her feet up for over an hour on her Emirates flight deserves to be called out as an offensive slob, particularly considering the setting on Middle Eastern carrier. But shame on the crew for just ignoring her.
No Shame Slob. Woman Puts Her Feet Up On Seat In Front Of Her On Emirates Flight
I’ve traveled enough through the Middle East and associated with folks from the region to know you don’t shake with your left hand and that the soles of your shoes are considered dirty. It is an insult to expose them.
Apparently, a lollygagging passenger did not receive the memo and made a spectacle of herself trying to get comfortable on a recent Emirates flights. The incident occurred on a Dubai (DXB) to London (LHR) flight as reported by Paul Stothard, who sat nearby.

According to Stothard, she sat for over an hour in this position. Although the crew passed by several times, no one said anything to her. That’s not a good reflection on the Emirates crew, either.
I’m much more sympathetic to the “passive aggressive” passenger who snapped the picture but did not saying anything. Why engage with someone so rude? Unless they were traveling together, why didn’t the man in front say anything? Did he really not notice?
Guess what? All you people who might try to argue that she has a health issue are just delusional. She has a rudeness issue. Anyone who tries to explain this away is as clueless as that the hundreds that tried to explain away a prancing woman on my own Austrian Airlines flight as suffering from deep vein thrombosis.
Allow me to put my feet on your head and ask me again.

And oh how I love this response:
I think her condition was mainly associated with gin & tonic.

Right on, Paul!

CONCLUSION
Look. You don’t put your feet up on the seat in front of you when you are on an airplane. You especially do not do so when on a Middle East airline. If you do so, expect to be shamed. No one should have to teach you this…

Women are entitled by birth it’s part of their human nature
Good thing we menfolk have society to put them in their place. Just last week they actually thought they had the right to control their own bodies–in the United States of all places! Can you imagine?
What about the bodies of the baby? Its not just “their own bodies”.
Setting aside the question of whether you have a right to impose your moral opinions on anybody except yourself… If the “baby” has been forced upon her, or is threatening her life or health, or is itself not viable, she has a right to evict it.
Foetus’s aren’t babies dear child diddler.
They are a life and most pedos belong to your side.
Nah, it’s a fetus, not s life.
tda- get a clue. SCOTUS did not ban abortions. Unfortunately plenty of states allow abortions.
If there was a way to ensure that life threatening ectopic pregnancies only occurred in family member of people like you, then I wouldn’t be so worried about abortion becoming illegal
You’re absolutely right. They didn’t ban abortions. SCOTUS only makes legal precedence, they don’t make law. And like SCOTUS said, it’s up to each state or Congress to make the laws. Well, that works just as well for say, their recent ruling stating NYC must allow for conceal carry. WRONG! Since there is no federal law mandating as such, and SCOUTUS, by their own admission, does not make law, then NY is well within it’s rights to still deny conceal carry despite the SCOTUS ruling. Just like states had anti-abortion laws on the books when Roe v Wade was still precedence. See how that works?
You seem pretty smart; so I’m legitimately asking – do you not see a difference between the 2nd Amendment which is very clear in its intentions for citizens to have access to firearms vs an interpretation (an “implicit in the right to privacy protected”) of the 14th amendment which has no mention of abortion?
I understand the confusion; but hysterics aside, they are separate judgements.
I honestly don’t care if you have an abortion; but don’t act like it’s not a violent act. It is very clearly killing something. Especially when you abort, the fetus is viable and you don’t intervene to let it die. If you’re comfortable with that, go for it.
Only in western countries, where they play perpetual victims and try to get as much concessions. Always equal rights, but never equal responsibilities.
A woman that can’t abstain will be treated as a victiim. A man that can’t abstain will be called a rapist. They are both the same, animals unable to control their urges.
What on earth is this take of yours…? Aside from how gross you come off, you think a woman who “can’t abstain” is the same as a man who rapes someone against their consent? Yikes I feel bad for the women in your life.
Thank you for your concern for women in my life. Should i setup a gofundme for you to contribute or do i just convey your empty words to them?
Consent is indeed the red herring to latch onto in my comment, but on a fundamental both cases are the same. We are talking about animals who can’t control themselves even knowing the consequences of their actions are bad, unwanted pregnancy that they have no means to deal with in one case and prison in another. I concede there are some cases that don’t fit this view.
Here is what i say, everytime there is an uptick in rape cases liberal celebrities should come out and say we need to setup taxpayer funded brothels to reduce prevalence of rape. Perhaps spend as much on this as is spent on abortion services for women who can’t abstain. Or better yet do not use taxpayer funds for either and handle it through insurance or charity from liberal loud months.
Again women are coddled in western liberal society and they are very good at playing perpetual victims and getting resources for themselves beyond their right.
This is already beyond what the article is about so no need to reply.
So much nonsense in your post.
Next time she should just pace up and down the aisle if having a medical issue. Including prior to takeoff. I read somehwere that it’s all the rage in Europe now. Including with Fitbit owners.
I can’t believe I actually agree with soyboy Matthew Klint for once. Is it bizarro day?
Ugh. What a disgusting pig. I would have told her to put her legs down no questions or debate about it. Surprised the Emirates crew let this go on. They are usually much better about things like this.
This is sergeant’s business. I would call the FA and ask them to do something about it. Interacting with a rude fellow passenger has a tendency not to go well. One of the main reasons I quit flying international economy was because of obnoxious fellow passengers.
This kind of behaviour is indeed rude. But the flight attendants probably do not deserve any blame, either. If nobody was complaining, then they probably adopted a live and let live attitude. Had they been any tougher on the lady, they may have been considered disrespectful or even misogynistic.
Misogynistic? I don’t think uou understand what that word means.
I see people do this at the movie theaters. I always find it offensive.
Trumps fault
This is a good way to prevent deep vein thrombosis on the increasingly unhealthy crowding of seats on long-duration flights by the airlines Everyone should practice this as it could save your life!
Maybe she had heart failure and needed to get the swelling down from her legs? At least it wasn’t barefoot. Those are some pretty expensive leather boots.
