Trip Report Roadmap for 2019

As we enter 2019, I want to give you an idea of what to expect in terms of trip reports this year on Live and Let’s Fly.

The good news, or bad news, depending upon your perspective, is that I am about caught up on my multi-year backlog of trip reports. In fact, I only have one major “old” trip report left. That’s a 2016 trip that includes India and the Maldives, including a couple flights in Etihad First Class.

I’ll be explicitly labeling that report a “vintage” report, since it seems that so much has changed on Eithad over the last couple years. Then again, I have my doubts. This trip report will be helpful in that I hope to try Etihad again this year and then do a side-by-side comparison.

So that trip report is coming, but first I want to get caught up on my most recent trips, which will include British Airways Economy Class, Virgin Atlantic Upper Class, and of course my recent Air France First Class flight. I’m still in Europe and not sure if I’ll try anything special coming home…

I’ll be left with a smattering of destination-based reports that I have never published before. Some are five years old, so I am not sure whether it is even worth it. But would you be interested in reading a report of my bus trip through the Balkans? The trip included stops in:

  • Belgrade, Serbia
  • Sarajaveo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Dubrovnik, Croatia
  • Pristhina, Kosovo
  • Tirana, Albania
  • Skopje, Macedonia
  • Thessalonki, Greece

It’s a fun report and certainly still somewhat valuable in terms of sights to see and hotels to stay at.

CONCLUSION

It always feels good to get caught up and I appreciate your constructive feedback and commentary on everything I write. We’ll launch a trip report of my most recent flights next, then do India/Maldives, then…?

The trip through the Balkans would be good – the series about Italy was very interesting – but If it will come at the expense of flight reports, you should do those first.

I would be very, very interested in reading about your trip through the Balkans, old or not.

I also vote for a report about your trip through the Balkans. I’m planning my own trip there and hearing your experiences would be most useful.

You should do the Balkans trip first. Very interested, in fact more so than air trip reports. You, and most other bloggers, don’t do that enough, though I enjoyed your amtrack report last year. I mean, we don’t need to hear about greyhound, mega bus, or the like, but why not give us a bus trip report from far away, or a train trip through China?

Well you convinced me. I might not do it first, but I will write about the Balkans trip this year.
