Trip Report Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo-Bali
As many of you know, a couple of weeks ago the Sherpstress and myself engaged in a trip around the world, that was full of interesting turns. Stops in NYC, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Yangon, Frankfurt, and Montreal made it an incredible journey.
More incredible in fact, than we had planned or hoped for. So incredible, that I am throwing out the rules about a trip report. Here is what the typical trip report looks like:
Introduction – Clever title to my latest trip report
PIT-NYC: First Time in NYC
NYC-NRT: Japan Airlines Executive Class
Yada, yada, yada.
Posts typically consist of descriptions of why we booked, how we booked, and reviews of seats, beds, and food.
And I get that, I even like that stuff, but really, do you need another trip report like that? I am betting not, so here is how this is going to go down.
In the coming days, I am going to give you a trip report the likes of which you have never seen. There will still be pictures of food, airplanes, and routemaps, but this will be seen through our eyes, like memories as if they were told to you by a friend.
Not sure if you are interested? How about being ticketless and out of luck in Malaysia, not knowing when and if you will be able to get home and no backup plans or contingencies. How about two cities added to the itinerary on the fly, and an entire country being removed? What about getting the Diamond treatment at a Hyatt resort for $55/night? How about visiting an orphanage across the world and finding a hometown connection? A treasure map given by a local? A secret restaurant in Hong Kong?
This trip report is so unconventional, the Sherpa is even going to start with the most intense part first, and it was really the beginning of the end.
But for that, you will have to wait until tomorrow…

Ahem. Yes. 😉
But you’ve got my interest. Looking forward to the details.
Installment one, set for tomorrow.
