I had a chance to visit the brand new American Airlines Admirals Club in Denver this week and walked away very impressed. AA has done a tremendous job with this lounge, which marks a huge leap forward in design and quality compared to the prior design.
New AA Admirals Club Denver – A Lovely American Airlines Lounge
The new lounge is located in the C Concourse.
What struck me most was the high quality of the design elements and furniture. For example, when you walk in, the stone countertop has the American logo carved out and behind it is a black backlit logo. The color scheme is so much better than the previous red and blue.
Walk further in and you come to a large sitting room with a fireplace lit and dark couches and chairs which accent the room so nicely. Even better, the couches and chairs are very comfortable.
Walk further into the lounge and you’ll notice nice wood accents to further highlight the mountain lodge theme (very similar to what United has done in its new Denver lounges).
The dining room includes tables with chairs, booths, and a bar. Again, there are thoughtful details like the artwork in each booth.
Food has also greatly improved. I happened to be there during the transition from breakfast to lunch and loved the tacos, salads, and charcuterie board. There’s also an expanded selection of beer, wine, and cocktails that are complimentary and still a menu from which you can order heartier meals from.
Perhaps the only miss is that I did not see any showers. The bathrooms are beautiful, though.
CONCLUSION
American Airlines did a great job on its new Denver lounge and the new Admirals Club design elements (which we also see at Washington National and Newark) mark a great new chapter in the style and evolution of Admirals Clubs. I’ll publish a full review of this lounge shortly.
The new aesthetic of AA’s lounges is really beautiful. Not sure showers are a necessity at DEN, given the route network AA has there. A nice to have. but not essential.
Wow! The club in Concourse A was a disaster. The quiet room was larger than the entry lounge area and the bar area. On two different occasions, I was yelled at for trying to take a VC meeting in the quiet room as there was nowhere else to sit and hear the other participants in the meeting. Question for Matt – did AA switch their gates and is BA still utilizing Denver for London flights?
Unacceptable. I thought everyone understood the importance of VC calls. How does the club staff not understand that VC calls and the people involved with VC calls are more important than any other club activity? (Or any airport activity for that matter – seems like flights should be held if a VC call needs to take place before departure, that’s a no brainer right?) Abject failure of AA to properly train their staff, and insolence on the part of all other patrons for not recognizing and honoring the importance of VC calls. Sorry you were subject to this injustice. The world owes so much to VC and the people who do the lords work of maximizing capital gains for shareholders. Thank you for your service.
What is wrong with you? This is why I don’t comment on any of these sites anymore as you have juvenile trolls like yourself with small pricks. I made a genuine comment about the old club. OMG! Matt had to take a meeting between flights? Well that is ridiculous. You are an a$$ clown and go get a hobby. Maybe go for a walk and think as an adult before you reply with remarks I would be sad to see a teenager post. I hope I never have to sit next to you on a flight.
They should have yelled at your entitled self. You are far less important than you think. LITERALLY called a quiet area
Hopefully AA will keep renovating more lounges with this design.
Hope DL ups its lounge game at DEN.
Glad to see that AA went with having showers at the lounge.
Given the lodging checkout times at ski resorts and often wanting to ski between checkout from the accommodations and flying from DEN or a feeder airport, a shower at the airport is something I can appreciate at DEN in particular.
Not glad to see that AA didn’t go with showers.
I know I’m in the minority but I don’t give a F about how it looks IF it is clean obviously. You guys come off as way to elitist when you talk about how the logo looks and if it’s in stone.
The food and beverage is all that matters and it appears they stepped their game up here, as they have done in many locations except Charlotte C-D currently.. Which by the way, might deserve its own story.
The Tacos look good and some other options I’ve found are a huge improvement over previous offerings.
Tacos were not great but the vibe was nice. Was there around 430 pm
On Wednesday and it was pretty full. Works out well for me as Alaska flies out of C so I don’t need to add another 20 mins to get from club to gate. I look forward to a longer visit week after next.
Toilet facilities located within the club was 1000% of an improvement.
