Review: Aerolineas Argentinas Lounge Buenos Aires (EZE)

This is a huge lounge, but also an underwhelming one. While you’ll have no trouble finding a seat (or dozens of seats), you will be very disappointed if you arrive hungry.

You walk in and see a huge seating area. Then you walk back and see another huge seating area. Keeping going and there is another huge seating area. I’d say this lounge easily can hold 500 people.

Almost everyone in the lounge (about 20 people) was clustered around the buffet just past the entrance. There is an identical buffet toward the back of the lounge. The selection is very disappointing. A light breakfast in the morning and at 10am, the transition was made to lunch, featuring simply packaged sandwiches and other pre-packaged goods.

The highlight for me was in the room behind the room behind the room. It’s an odd combo. There is a bathroom, a shower room, and four massaging lounge chairs.

I spent about an hour here enjoying a puesdo-massage, leaving only because I had to charge my laptop and there were no plugs in the back room.

I felt the lounge is about as outdated as Aerolineas Argentinas business class. You can almost picture the days in which Aerolineas Argentinas had a more robust worldwide route network and the lounge was full, back in the day when Club Condor class was actually competitive.

If needed, a small business center in the front of the lounge has desktop computers and a printer.

CONCLUSION

It’s a quiet lounge with snacks and internet. That’s about it. It’s sad that the national airline of a country with such a rich culinary heritage does not offer better food in the lounge. The lounge is open daily from 5am to 12am.

You beat me to the punch. I was just going to comment how disappointing it is that not a single lounge at EZE has a proper food selection, given Argentina’s reputation for fine cuisine. It’s especially disappointing to see in the lounge of the Argentine flag carrier, though Aerolineas sure seems to relish in its mediocrity!
