The Air Canada Signature Suite in Toronto exceeded my already-lofty expectations with great service and delicious food.
I spent several hours in the Signature Suite at Toronto Pearson (YYZ), enjoying a very tasty multi-course meal and several great cups of coffee. The lounge manger, James, saw me taking picture and just beamed with pride as he gave me an extended tour of the lounge. It’s that kind of lounge.
The lounge includes two beautiful dining area, a sitting area, and restrooms. Staff are well-trained and pay close attention to detail.
You must allow time to eat, because the food is very tasty…I enjoyed every bite of every dish, particularly the lamb shank.
This is Air Canada’s most premium lounge. Access is reserved for paid business class travelers. Those on award tickets or who upgraded do not have access.
I had an inspection in Santiago to perform for my other business and booked a business class ticket. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 concerns, the trip was cancelled a few hours prior to departure and I flew to Los Angeles instead. I thought I would have trouble going from the international gate area to the trans border (U.S. departures) gate area, but it was actually pretty easy.
The beautiful artwork and incredible service make me look forward to visiting the new Signature Suite in Vancouver, which fatefully has just opened in the midst of all the COVID-19 scare and shutdown of Canada.
I’ll have more details and many more photos in my full review.
These reviews are a nice respite from the other current airline news so keep them coming! I sure miss the coffee shop lattes & cappuccinos since the restaurants are closed in Ohio to inside dining. There’s nothing like a barista made latte in a real mug! 🙂
This is not available to transborder (Canada – US) flyers correct? I think I just had access to the regular Maple Leaf lounge in the F-gate area, which was…underwhelming.
Correct. No transborder access.
Ah, I was wondering how you were able to use the lounge when you were traveling on trans border flight. Now, it makes sense. 🙂
Provided things return to normal (ish) I’m very much looking forward to using the brand new Signature Suite in Vancouver in a few months time.
Really Matthew? You expect us & any AC employee happening to be reading this to believe that you actually intended to fly to Santiago?
I absolutely do and if ever questioned, have plenty of evidence to back-up the last-minute and legitimate nature of the trip. Not everyone who has to cancel a trip is trying to game the system, AC. The LAX flight was indeed the original plan and ended up being used, but I would not be so transparent (as you point out) if I was trying to cover up a trip that was never meant to be…
If the LAX flight was the original plan, then…huh?
I originally intended to fly Toronto to Los Angeles, a flight I wrote about after I booked it weeks ago. But a work trip originated the day before departure, requiring me to travel directly to South America. That trip was later called off due to COVID-19-related delays in the product, which delayed inspection. These sort of last-minute cancellations happen all the time in my line of work. Any import/export person will attest.
How “convenient” for you 😉
This lounge is now closed.
