Air France has revealed its beautiful new Schengen Lounge in Terminal 2F at Paris (CDG) that is simply stunning. Kudos to Air France for making airport lounges sexy once again.

Beautiful Air France 2F Lounge In Paris (CDG)

For many years, you would not be off-base for wondering if you were in a prison instead of an Air France lounge. Think Frankfurt. Or Houston. But Air France has embraced both style and substance with its latest lounge in Paris.

The lounge is huge–3,000 square meters (over 32,000 square feet!)–and includes 570 seats spread over two levels. The space and the furniture was designed by the Jouin Manku agency, composed of Canadian architect Sanjit Manku and French designer Patrick Jouin.

Catering will also be upgrade. As Air France describes it:

For a quick bite to eat, mini sandwiches, salads and hot quiches are available at all times. There is also a dedicated counter with pancakes in the morning, dishes of the day made by a chef at lunchtime, as well as an aperitif service. Cheeses and desserts complete this offer designed in the spirit of a French bistro. The wine list, chosen by Paolo Basso, world’s best sommelier in 2013, offers a wide selection of wines and champagnes. Finally, a vast “detox” area has a relaxing atmosphere and offers a wide range of herbal teas.

We seen many lounges that debut looking fresh, but don’t age well. Air France promises this lounge is different, and that the “terrazzo, lava stone, wood, leather and other fabrics” are all designed to provide comfort, beauty, and age well. I certainly hope that is the case, as everything looks timeless to me:

Air France also unveiled this video concerning the new lounge:

CONCLUSION

The lounge is open daily from 5:30am to 10:00pm and available to business class and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers. Subject to space availability, travelers in economy class can purchase access for 35EUR.

Certainly in Europe, Air France are leading the pack for quality of business and first class services leaving Lufthansa ever more quickly behind and of course BA don’t even rate.

Does the mean the end of ‘free pour’ champagne and grey goose? The AF lounge was never the most attractive but they had among the best wine/liquor offerings for a schengen lounge.

Looks gorgeous. Too bad 99% of us will never qualify to get in.

To put it perspective, 35 euros is less than the cost of two glasses of wine (of inferior quality) at Newark.

Haha, every comment as spot on ! The drinkers and food lovers are definitely right at AF. I am a white from a primitive tribe (I guess by now you know what I mean) and love the treat at AF, much better than the cumbersome LH and BA, who is even talking about them.

The IB was also a fail, and they got their heads washed properly, my spanish is flawless.

    Finnair was good too,

And well, I am very happy not having to fly in the self proclaimed greatest cuntry on earth. Take a flight in PRC or Asia in general and you want to emigrate the next day.
