Great Coffee In Las Vegas

Matthew Klint Posted onAugust 22, 2023November 13, 2023 8 Comments

I’m “live-blogging” my spontaneous road trip to Las Vegas.

My hotel did not have great coffee and neither did Taco Bell, but I did enjoy a couple very nice cups of coffee during my brief trip to Las Vegas.

Best Coffee In Las Vegas

After lunch, I promised Augustine some ice cream and we went upstairs to illy Caffé, where he enjoyed an ice cream cone and I enjoyed my first cup of coffee of the day.

The illy espresso blend is generally not my favorite, but at the same time it is also above-average. Small, medium, and large sizes were available (which shows this as not truly a high-class coffee shop) and I ordered the small cappuccino after confirming it would have two shots of espresso.

That proved to be a wise choice at it turned out like a cortado: very strong.

Augustine loved his ice cream, though it killed me (especially after just returning from Germany where ice cream is so good and so cheap) to pay $9 for his cone with two scoops.

On our way home, we stopped at Vesta Coffee as recommended by Ricardo on Twitter.

First, I loved this little neighborhood of Las Vegas, known as the Arts District or 18b. Quite charming in the midst of a city I otherwise do not really care for.

Second, the staff here were wonderful – kind and gregarious. I arrived about five minutes before closing time and was not rushed at all, nor forced to take my coffee in a to-go container.

Third, I love that coffee was roasted on the premises.

Fourth, and most importantly, the coffee was excellent. I enjoyed a superb cortado that kept me awake for the drive home.

CONCLUSION

No matter how hot it is outside, there is nothing like a great cup of coffee. I’d say the biggest takeaway from my trip to Vegas is how cool 18B is and that the coffee at Vesta is world-class.

Glad you tried Vesta, that’s my Go-To whenever I visit Vegas with a car! My other favorite near Downtown is Mothership coffee roasters

Assuming you left already, but if still around and walk to the Cosmo, try District: Donuts. Sliders. Brew. Makes a great coffee and the donuts are huge and diverse, sure to fill both of your sugar needs.

Just came back from Italy and even on the best gelato places the two scoops of fantastic fresh flavors was €2.50. It is sad to see what is happening with restaurants in the US. Overrated and overpriced food.

Kindly speaking. Now days you just need to do a little investigating to find them, unfortunately.

Great inexpensive gelato is something you definitely have a point about here in Germany, although it is still better in Italy and close in Spain. But coffee in Germany is very hit or miss. I absolutely don’t think it comes close to coffee in say Italy, Spain or even the West Coast of the USA.

100% agree, though great coffee is gaining traction. I recently found a great place in Frankfurt.

Here in Nuremberg, we have two really great local places. But after that … you go to Starbucks.
