Biden’s Tall Tale On Amassing 1.5 Million Amtrak Miles

President Joe Biden, known for his folksy embellishments of the truth over the years, now has added to the archive with a new tall tale over how he earned over 1.5 million Amtrak miles.

Biden’s Story On Traveling 1.5 Million Amtrak Miles Has Some Holes…

Speaking at Amtrak’s 50th Anniversary event on April 30th, Biden told a heartfelt story about how a conductor congratulated him for surpassing 1.5 million miles. The President was a Delaware Senator for 36 years and would commute between Wilmington and the District on Amtrak after a deadly car crash killed his wife and daughter in 1972, leaving him a widower and caretaker of two sons.

“When I became Vice President, one of the Capitol Hill newspapers estimated that I had taken more than 7,000 round trips on Amtrak over my career. I think that’s an exaggeration. I’m going to rely on those two conductors … one of them was a guy named Angelo Negri.

“There was an article, I guess my fourth or fifth year as Vice President, saying Biden travels 1,300,000 miles on Air Force One. I used to – the Secret Service didn’t like it – but I used to like to take the train home. My mom was sick and I used to try to come home almost every weekend as Vice President to see her. I got on the train and Angelo Negri came up and he goes, ‘Joey, baby,’ and he grabbed my cheek like he always did. I thought he was going to get shot. I’m serious. I said, ‘No, no, he’s a friend.’

“He said, ‘Joey, what’s the big deal? 1,300,000 miles on Air Force Two? Do you know how many miles you traveled on Amtrak?’ I said, ‘No, Angie, I don’t know.’ He gave me the calculation and he said you traveled 1,500,000 miles on Amtrak. The fact is, I’d probably take Angie’s word before I’d take the word of what the article said.”

It’s a cute story, the sort of anecdote that has always made me like Biden as a person.

But there are a few blatant inconsistencies in his story.

  • Angelo Negri retired in 1993
  • Biden’s mother, Catherine Eugenia Finnegan, died in 2010
  • Biden didn’t hit 1 million miles on Air Force Two until 2015

So yeah…

CONCLUSION

I’m neither outraged nor upset, just amused. This is classic Biden.

That’s funny. Not a fan of his politics per se but I think he’s a good decent person. And sadly that’s rare these days

This country is so blinded. So one sided. Enjoy what’s left of what you have with your friends and family … your children won’t have that luxury… Joey Baby is walking you down a slippery scented primrose slope with a laugh track to democratic Socialism.

Listen up, folks. Here’s the deal. I was right there on the front lines. Vietnam, man – shooting at the Germans. I took a direct hit from a double latte and Mary had a little lamb.

So he did travel around 1.5 million miles on Amtrak?

So he did travel around or more than 1 million miles on Air Force One and Two?

Did he ever apply for the Amtrak credit card?

Sounds like he has indeed traveled millions of miles. Doesn’t surprise me, as I’ve traveled millions of miles too. Biden’s not only older than us sprightly young folk, he’s also been quite the sprightly traveler for 40+ years.

Has he said anything about how he has redeemed Amtrak points?

Hilarious. If Trump had been caught in these blatant lies, that’s all you’d hear from the MSM for the next week. But when Joe lies (as he does daily), it’s just “I’m neither outraged nor upset, just amused.” smh. As is seen every day, just another blaring example of the fact that if not for double standards, the Left/MSM would have no standards at all.

This was not meant to be a political post. I just think it is cute the way Joe embellishes the truth. Yes, it’s also a bit concerning and I do wonder if he has dementia already. And I’m hardly what your describe me as, but better a harmless lie about Amtrak than a lie that resulted in billions of dollars in waste and thousands of dead Americans (Iraq War). Ok, that was political.

    “I think he’s a good decent person.”
You might re-think your definition of who qualifies as a “good decent person” if you include a tendency to lie. Unless you believe these constant untrue stories Joe tells are just a result of senility. In that case, POTUS is the last job this guy should have. But Trump!!! lol/smh

I think AI has his own double standards.
Inflating your FF credentials (which happens daily here on the comments) does not equal grabbing a woman’s private parts/refusing to accept election results/revealing classified info to Russia or colluding with them/recommending Lysol injections, and so on.

Al sounds like someone who would prefer that his super-scummy Lord liar-in-chief Trump still be President of the country.

Trump’s de facto 2020 supporters come in having zero credibility in 2021 when attacking others about truthfulness or principles.

He’s Irish Catholic. Rule #1 for an Irish Catholic is “never let the truth get in the way of a good story.”

I’m only 1/4 Irish Catholic, so I only get to apply this rule 1 out of 4 times!

I wish Trump told lies about airline and train miles- instead he told lies like “Covid will go away in April 2020” or he said that he didn’t work with Putin or his actions didn’t deserve impeachment or he didn’t start a riot – people on here that are defending trump are sad , delusional and to stupid / and or racist to ask themselves any critical questions about Republicans leaders. People save yourselves time and energy in trying to change my mind or argue with me – you lost- look in the mirror, that blog staring back at you – is sadly you

It’s just a laughable senior moment. I don’t think he’ll push the nuclear red button thinking it’s the lever on his toaster. Oh, I thought I was toasting some bread, not toasting Moscow!

Seriouisly, Biden is the hopes and dreams for America so I hope he doesn’t get too senile while he’s President. He’s better than his VP so hopefully he’ll retain his marbles.

“Folksy embellisment”? It’s nothing less than another example of how he ( and his administration) is incapable of telling the truth and dealing with the American people in an honest manner. He’s clearly impacted with dementia and if he were simply a private citizen his “tall tails” miht be the endearing stories of an old man. As President, his inability to even modestly do his job is scary and dangerous for the country.

He is just giving the old coot more of an opportunity to spew this garbage with NO ONE to call him on it.
It is one thing to be stumblebum (mentally AND physically) which most could overlook if he was THEIR elderly, senile relative, But THIS MAN, as the leader of the Free World steps in feces daily figuratively, and has no CLUE about how the piles got there! These symptoms, as well as their correlated crimes, are being used to undercut our Economy. The World is so inter-related regarding Commerce, that he thinks that he can just make up “facts” (which are then reported/proven to be false by some media outlets) and so he MUST be held accountable for the results from his policies, (unless his smartest person he knows can strategize (son- HB) as to how Dad needs to take actions to preserve the “Family’s” monetary enterprises, in order to keep the “Big Guy” in high cotton….

I’ll take Biden’s slight inaccuracies over the constant daily litany of lies from the reality TV star. Obviously many on here, have no idea what the truth is. But I trust Biden over Trump every day of the week. I never, ever trusted Trump. He was a lying scumbag in NYC and Atlantic City, with a trail of failures. His Presidency was failure, just like Trump, himself. But just wait until you find out that he isn’t a billionaire, but just a con artist.
