Review: Blue Sky Premier Lounge Bali (DPS) – A Surprisingly Excellent Priority Pass Lounge

The Blue Sky Premier Lounge in the domestic terminal of Bali Denpasar International Airport was a very pleasant surprise: a nice space with great food and excellent coffee which struck me as a cut above a “normal” Priority Pass lounge.

Blue Sky Premier Lounge Bali Review (DPS)

Perhaps what should have been the sign that this lounge was different than most Priority Pass lounges was that there was a trio of young women in pseudo flight attendant outfits waving signs for the lounge past security. The lounge aggressively tries to sell day passes (about 30 USD each for a three-hour visit).

Access + Location + Hours

I used my Priority Pass membership to enter this lounge, which permits users up to three hours (though if you need longer, theoretically you can just scan in again).

The lounge is open daily from 5:30 am to 9:30 pm and is located airside near gate 6, which is quite a long walk from the security checkpoint (turn right).

Seating

After checking in, you’ll be directed upstairs to the lounge area via stairs or elevator.

The classic jigsaw puzzle-shaped chairs made me think this was an ex-Plaza Premium Lounge, but maybe Blue Sky, which opened in 2024, got some used furniture from the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 3?

Food + Drink

The food spread included a chocolate fondue fountain and ice cream bar! Good thing my kids weren’t with me…

In addition, there was soup, salads, freshly-cut fruit, and freshly-made Mantou (馒头, traditional Chinese steamed buns).

I was impressed most of all with the Ippolito coffee bar, which offered barista-made coffee that was quite respectable (though the coffee at Revolver in the terminal is the best if you’re a coffee snob).

“VIP” conference rooms are also present and can be reserved at reception.

Restrooms + Showers

Restrooms are available in the lounge as well as a single shower suite, which can be reserved at reception.

CONCLUSION

The Blue Sky Premier Lounge in Bali is one of those rare Priority Pass lounges that actually feels worth seeking out rather than merely tolerating. Between the comfortable seating, strong food spread, and genuinely good barista-made coffee, this lounge rates well above what I typically expect from a contract lounge in a domestic terminal.

If you have Priority Pass and are departing from the domestic terminal at DPS, this lounge is absolutely worth the effort to visit (not that I’d even arrive early for this one, unless you specifically need a cup of coffee).

I recognize that chocolate fountain! Was there in 2024. DPS is doing alright!

But no towel dispenser in the urinal area for this lounge ? … Maybe this lounge caters to the non-muslim clientele ?
    .. lol

I did a fair bit of lounge hopping at DPS in late 2024 as part of the SAS 1 million point promo. The DPS lounges had food that was good enough for meals that I would be full on the flights out of DPS and had lower food costs while doing the promotion. 😀

T hanks for the kind words.

I never left and always read, but I cannot always comment as much as I like everywhere I like. 😀

I had told some folks in October and November 2024 that my expectation of this election outcome would almost certainly mean that I would be much busier than usual for 2025 and a big chunk of 2026. And as expected in Q4 2024, I haven’t yet made much of a dent in that SAS balance because of it. But I do have a lot of hotel status locked in from last year for this year too to use up and no shortage of airline and 3rd party lounge access across the continents. 😀
