AA flights from DFW, ORD, and MIA were briefly grounded this afternoon until 2:15p ET due to an unspecified computer glitch. The problem has now been resolved.

On Twitter, AA earlier said-

We’re working to resolve technical issues impacting several airports as soon as possible. We truly apologize.

But later posted this update-

AA.com was unable to search for award space earlier though the system appears to be functional again.

Might this forshadow what we have to look forward to the day AA and US Airways truly merge  after October 16?

I hope not. I’m booked on the US swan-song flight the night of the 16th, and would much rather not have to drive myself home from PHL Saturday morning…

I was flying on UA the on the day of CO-UA SHARES integration in March 2011 — total mess. I had to be rebooked on US Airways!
