As I try to downsize my lot of earthly possessions rather than accumulate more clutter, I’m not jumping on the Black Friday or Cyber Monday bandwagon this year. Even so, there are a few deals worth pointing out.
Let’s start with Expedia. In about 20 minutes (noon ET), Expedia will unveil its Cyber Monday special, with four different coupons. Coupons will be capacity controlled but include:
- 90% off select hotels
- $100 off select flights
It is safe to assume there will be minimum spend/night requirements, but you never know. I think back to Cyber Monday in 2010…when I scored an incredible free trip to Las Vegas on Expedia. Then it happened again in 2017!

As for Amazon, I already own an iPad but cannot help but to point out the $249 iPad is an excellent price. So is the Bose Quiet Comfort 25 noise-cancelling headphones for $109. That’s a great deal if you do not mind the chord.
I offer my additional travel picks here.

Finally, I am intrigued by the United Airlines 50% off sale for awards to Europe. Sadly, the discounted awards are only available from mid-January through March (meaning we miss Christmas and Easter), but a weekend trip to see her friends for 30K may be a great gift for my wife!

Finally, don’t forget today is the last day of the incredible LifeMiles deal (145% bonus).
Am I missing anything truly compelling?

I’m saving 100% across the board. By not buying anything.
Booked NH Vienna Airport Conference Center Superior Room for €82.50 one night end of January directly from their site over the weekend. That was a 50% savings.
Also bought a $50 Grubhub gift card and got a $10 card for free. Dinner only cost $5 last night.
