A Delta Sky Club standoff in Palm Beach turned ugly when a man refused to leave and police got involved.
Man Arrested At Delta Sky Club In Palm Beach After Refusing To Leave: “I’m A Member”
On July 5, 2025, at Delta’s Sky Club at Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), a man was arrested after refusing repeated requests to depart the lounge despite lacking the required access credentials. The exchange was caught on body cam and has now surfaced online.
- Lounge staff repeatedly told the man he needed proper membership or access to remain; he refused
- Authorities were called in
- When approached by police, the man allegedly became hostile, saying things like, “Get away from me, you’re disgusting!”
- He was told he could leave voluntarily or be arrested for trespassing
- He continued to stall and was promptly arrested
- After being cuffed he said, “My choice was to leave,” claiming he had said he would, even though at that moment he was still refusing
What a tool…
I’ve got very little sympathy for someone refusing to produce valid lounge credentials and then occupying the space like a thug. We all know what the rules are and that means you need not just a valid membership (which this man claimed to have…) but also a valid boarding pass for a Delta or SkyTeam flight.
Delta tightened the rules on access and my hunch is that this man was flying another carrier and thought he was still entitled to access to the SkyClub.
Yes, maybe he thought he could talk his way out of it. Maybe he genuinely misunderstood membership rules. But once you’re told you don’t have proper access and the club staff involves the police, walking away is the only smart move. Fighting it in public, aggressively? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
CONCLUSION
Delta Sky Club access is a regulated perk, not a right. If you can’t prove you belong, leaving when asked is the smart play…especially once the cops show up. Maybe this guy was just drunk, but he struck me as drunk with entitlement, which is almost worse. I he was indeed a SkyClub member, I hope Delta cancels his membership for violating lounge access rules. Cops can be rude…but they were great here. Generally, you respect them and they respect you…this guy made a bad situation far worse.

“Maybe he genuinely misunderstood membership rules.” If that was the case, Delta agents probably informed him he was mistaken about his interpretation of the rules and that should be enough for him to leave. I really don’t understand why people will subject themselves to public humiliation over accessing a lounge. Respect the police, sit by the gate and be quiet.
This is an example of lounges being difficult to manage if visitors are sedentary . Once a sedentary person is allowed to enter , and to settle in comfortably , he will not wish to be dislodged .
A better system would be to not allow him in the first place . If someone sat at a desk , and then buzzed the visitors in, through controlled door , he would not have been able to enter in the first place .
The same system could be used at the gate entrance to the aircraft , to eliminate people with pet dogs or over-size cabin suitcases . Buzz them through a gate , one at a time .
He definitely forced his way in. Usually you arrived at the lounge and they scan your boarding pass. If you don’t have access to the lounge you are informed by the agent and civilized people just leave. He was probably told he didn’t have access but walked in anyway which prompted the agents to ask him to leave and later call the police. He deserved to be dragged out.
Thanks … then he is a boor .
They usually welcome me in my airline wheelchair with a smile , a kiss , a back rub-down , and a drink .
Thug? I think more like a hobo.
“Delta tightened the rules on access and my hunch is that this man was flying another carrier”
My hunch is he was on DL in Basic Economy, which precludes SkyClub lounge access in every access situation as far as I can recall.
Correction to my comment – other partner elites, lifetime skyclub members, and possibly Delta 360 can get access on a Basic Economy ticket, but it’s not possible with a standard SkyClub membership purchased or through a credit card.
He could also be an elite traveling overseas on a Main Cabin ticket and denied entry for the same reason.
Hope he gets out in time to compete in the Florida Man Games. It sounds like he’s eminently qualified.
If you’re going to be arrested for trespassing in an airline lounge, have some dignity and do that at Al Mourjan in Qatar. I mean, getting a criminal record for a Delta lounge in Palm Beach…
hmmm… I don’t know what Allah would think about that one .,,., And I’d like to keep all of my 20 digits as well !
…. lol
What username does his post under on this site?
I assume Delta maintained its premium decorum by gifting the suspect a parting souvenir Biscoff !
those cops were jerk-offs and so were the be-atches that called them. he wasn’t bothering anyone. just sitting there. if they had just left him alone, he would have departed the area when his flight was ready. this is one of the stupidest things i have heard of. no compassion, no slack. just police. great PR move, Delta.
You seem awfully triggered. Are you the guy in the video?
So…anyone who doesn’t have lounge access should just ne able to enter the lounge and stay there for as long as they want to!
I think we found rhe man who was arrested for trespassing.
What a dotard.
I spend/pay a lot of money for SkyClub access. There are rules for a reason. Was I disappointed that they changed the rules a few years ago, so that you just can’t show a gold amex and pay $29, yep. Do I think the “you can’t take a banana out of the club” rule is stupid, also yes. But those are the rules of the club…and if you want access to the club, you have to abide by the rules. It’s literally a business contract.
There is also the social contract that so many people seem to be oblivious to today. How you treat people matters. How you behave in public matters. If you come barging your way into a restricted space in an airport, you should expect to face the consequences. Being rude to service workers and refusing to leave when asked is unacceptable. This man chose to disobey a lawful order, so he needs to own his decision.
Who raised these people? The level of entitlement/delusion is jaw dropping.
