After visiting the Tegenungan Waterfall and Tirta Empul Temple we stopped for dinner at the Four Seasons Bali At Sayan, a very different property than the Four Seasons Bali At Jimbaran Bay.
Dinner At Jati Bar – Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan
While we ended up greatly enjoying our dinner and drinks, the point of the stop was to scope out this property in case of a return visit to Bali. While the Jimbaran Bay property sits on a ridge overlooking the bay and beach below, the Ubud – Sayan property is in the middle of the jungle. You’re surrounded by trees.
The property has a much more modern vibe than the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay.
We sat down at the Jati Bar to relax after the sightseeing and enjoy a meal.
Dodi, bartender, warmly greeted us, presented menus, and asked what he could fix us to drink. My friend had Champagne while I asked if he could prepare a gin basil smash, a German cocktail that is probably my favorite. No problem, said Dodi.
Not only wasn’t it a problem, but he knew exactly how to extract the basil and the drink came out a rich green color. He used Monkey Gin. It was a refreshing drink.
Bar snacks included a trio of homemade crisps that complimented the drinks nicely.
We invited our guide to join us and he ordered nasi goreng for his meal.
My friend had a cheeseburger.
I ordered the mezze platter, which included:
- hummus
- falafel
- beef and lamb kofta.
- chicken Kebab
- quinoa tabbouleh.
- Marinated olives,
- baba ganoush
- carrot
- cucumber
- pita bread
Every bite was delicious – a great choice.
Dodi poured us each a shot of Arak Bali (a rice spirit) which we gulped down…not my favorite.
For dessert we shared a delicious chocolate and banana treat.
CONCLUSION
Our “scouting mission” to the Four Seasons Sayan turned into a great dinner. I’d love to spend a few nights here on a future trip to Bali. If you’re here, look for Dodi…he will take great care of you.
Monkey Gin 47 although costly, is not Money Gin.
Does Monkey Gin allow one to climb trees similar as a monkey ?
Was the gin pesto as good as the original at Le Lion bar on Rathausstrasse?
It wasn’t, but still pretty darn good.
I’ve only been to Bali once and we stayed in ubud. Very nice and peaceful. Completely different to seminyak.
What was the total price for the dinner?
