Qantas Signature Soundtrack – Boarding Music

You can close your eyes and imagine you have just boarded a Qantas flight with a new album of boarding music available for free download.

Qantas Signature Boarding Music Available For Free Download

Bowing to frequent requests from frequent flyers, Qantas has released its signature boarding music, featuring the work of Australian composer Haydn Walker and produced by Nathan Cavaleri.

You can download the two-track album on two platforms:

  • Apple Music
  • Spotify

Some users are reporting a $9.99 charge for it. I downloaded it for free, but have an Apple Music subscription and figured an airline-marked soundtrack would be complimentary.

Qantas Group Chief Customer Officer Stephanie Tully said:

“It’s a fun way to engage with Frequent Flyers who are keen to recapture the experience of being up in the air. Our customers tell us they miss flying as much as getting to the destination itself and this sensory experience will help fill the temporary void while some of us can’t fly because of border closures.”

Yes, Australians remain prisoners in their own country as new COVID-19 cases reach their worst levels since the pandemic started in cities like Sydney, but that’s another issue…

I downloaded the music yesterday and had it playing in the car when I drove my son to school and back. It’s about 28 minutes long and classed as “New Age” though it did not sound particularly New Age to me…it just sounded like boarding music!

As much as I like it, I still do prefer Etihad boarding music.

If you’re still stuck at home, Qantas also released a series of 10 aviation-themed meeting backgrounds.

This is a good move for them, to continue exploring other fields if income, considering they’ll never again move passengers internationally in any meaningful capacity

Dreadful rubbish. That Etihad stuff sounds sinister, like part of a scary movie. I just want a tinkling piano, like Cole Porter songs or nice light jazz/orchestral.. No weird stuff, please, ‘new age’ or whatever it’s called…
