Frontier Airlines Turns Away Late Passenger With Medieval-Style “Drawbridge” Defense

Is going to prison really worthwhile to make your Frontier Airlines flight? Or are they one and the same? One Denver passenger did not take no for an answer when he showed up late to the boarding gate, but was met with the old “drawbridge” defense that dates back hundreds of years.

Late Frontier Airlines Pushes Past Gate Agent And Runs Toward Aircraft Only To Face Raised “Drawbridge” 

This was posted a few weeks ago, but it just came into my feed today and I had to chuckle. Video shows a late-arriving passenger in Denver barreling past a gate agent and out onto the apron to try to board his Frontier Airlines flight.

It’s alleged that the man pushed the gate agent aside to get by and if he did, I hope the book is thrown at him for battery.

As he runs out to the aircraft, a member of ground staff lifts up the ramp to the aircraft, like a drawbridge to an ancient castle being raised. The man stops and tries to find a way through, but the defense proved impenetrable.

I suspect the police were called and arrested him not only for battery but also for trespassing. Again, well deserved. But I do feel his pain, at least somewhat. Notice that passengers were still waiting to board on the jetbridge. He could have easily been allowed onboard, joined the queue, and boarded the flight.

I don’t like rewarding bad behavior and the boarding cutoff is the cutoff (20 minutes prior to departure on Frontier), but when you see people waiting to board and are denied for arriving a minute or two later, I can understand the anger.

Frontier’s customer service at Denver is atrocious…my wife and kids got caught here earlier in the year and it was a total mess (thank goodness for the nearby Capital One Lounge).

But poor service (often because agents’ hands are tied or they are coached to deliver poor service because it is part of the business model) does not excuse assault or battery.

    He might have leaped over the ramp-drawbridge , and rolled to the inside of the passage way , then ran up the passage way .

    F9 agents with ‘tired’ hands ? .. lol
    Unfortunately F9’s ‘coaching’ model is rampant today in some form or another and one reason why I don’t patronize venues as much as in the past …

    All you need do is meet their deadlines. It’s not difficult. Frontier’s total inflexibility is notorious, so I don’t understand why anyone thinks they’ll be ok to show up late. Next time, fly United.

    Couldn’t they have just let him run up the gangway and THEN ‘push’ (or help) him off onto the tarmac ? Sooo close but yet so far, what a let down !

    Totally off topic: How can the „drawbridge“ be raised/closed like this (blocking any access) when there are still passengers on the bridge? There is no escape way in case of an emergency, not for the people on the bridge, at not for the passengers in the plane.

    I live in Denver. Frontier airlines is the absolute worst airline in the world. I think I would rather fly cubana air. Problem is Frontier has such a large footprint here. You sometimes have no choice but to choose one of their Greyhound bus machines that fly in the air. Customer service is the absolute worst. If they cancel the flight due mechanical issues. You’re out of luck. All they will do is refund your money. I absolutely hate them and avoid them at all costs.
