Hot Nuts Gone on United?

Matthew Klint Posted onMarch 16, 2010 5 Comments

Two recent posts in the omnibus "Let’s Eat" thread on Flyertalk, where travelers post what meals they were served on UA, suggest that United may be phasing out hot nuts.

A LAX-ORD and LAX-LIH flight last week featured a new bag of premium mix rather than the traditional warmed nuts in a ramekin. It sounds to me like a supply problem at LAX, but if United ever touches my…

Let’s just say United would not be wise to remove the best part of the meal.

Once I get some more info, I’ll post an update. I am not flying for a couple weeks so I’ll have to rely on the reports of others.

If UA really has decided to eliminate hot nuts–which would yet further align them with CO–I would: do nothing. And I doubt I’m the only one. I’d be tempted to go over to AA, but there is no way I’d give up Star Alliance for OneWorld. So maybe UA figures they can get away with it.

No worries. Just had two small, white, ceramic dishes of them on the way back from LHR last Thursday

Just got off an SFO-ORD flight in C, and no hot nuts. I am 90% certain I saw ramekins in F though. Maybe a domestic C cutback?

@Another David: That’s not good news. Thanks for the update.

    Now it’s not just LAX.
