After nearly two weeks of being away from my family, it is good to be back home.
I was hoping my son would still recognize me when I walked through the door and he did…in fact, he came running over to greet me, squealing in delight, and embraced me. There are few joys in life worth more than that.
One is spending time alone with your spouse. Each day there is an endless amount of work and consequently there is never an ideal time to take a vacation. But I’m taking my wife to Hawaii. Just for a couple days…with busy schedules, that is all we can squeeze in right now. She’s never been and we just want to go somewhere we can unplug and spend some quality time together.
So I am warning you now – I’ll be publishing installments of my latest trip report for the next couple days and that is all. I’m truly going to make an effort to take at least a 24-hour period and completely power off. Thus, your comments may be more slowly approved and if you have questions, I won’t be answering them right away.
If I am honest with myself, I must admit I am totally addicted to my phone. I chronically check email and messages and like a cigarette addiction, it is the first thing I reach for after a meal and when I wake up. That may be the story of this generation, but at least in Hawaii, I’m going to take a break. At least I’ll try…
Aloha.
Always good to unplug and recharge. Funnily enough, I am also heading to Hawaii, though tomorrow
Enjoy!
Good for you. Enjoy some malasadas while you’re there.
Good for you. Hawaii (IMHO) is about the best place to relax and unwind! Put that phone away!
Have a good time. If you’re reading this comment while on vacation, don’t feel bad for being addicted to your phone…just put it away now!
