“I’m An American Citizen!” Woman Denied Boarding On Delta Air Lines Unloads On Gate Agent

Oh dear, even in this political climate, pulling the “I’m an American citizen” card is not a good way to get onboard a Delta Air Lines flight when you are intoxicated.

Intoxicated Woman Denied Boarding On Delta Air Lines Flight, Blames Gate Agent

A woman is so clearly sloshed that we need not wonder why she was denied boarding, but she appears clueless as to why she was not allowed on her plane. Based on the police uniforms, it looks like this sorry incident took place in Terminal 4 of New York JFK Airport, where Delta Air Lines operates from.

We don’t know the route, but it appears this was an international flight because she flashed her US passport, insiting that she had the right to board her flight.

After it is clear she is denied boarding, there’s first an extended moment of confusion and bewilderment, followed by anger unleased on the gate agent. At least she did not attack him, but she repeatedly yelled out, “I have to file a complaint over him!”

“This man right here! He didn’t allow me on the plane!

The police showed up and handcuffed her when she refused to calm down, making her yell even louder;

“No! No! This isn’t okay.”

I’m sure that the country where she was flying to thanks the Delta gate agent for stopping her from boarding…and I thank him too. It’s a tough job to be a gate agent and have to deal with people like that…it may be part of the job description, but I’m impressed by how the gate agent seemingly ignores her.

There’s no word (yet) on her identity or even how old this video is, though it was just posted on YouTube (with terrible auto-generated captions…).

If I had to guess how this situation escalated, I’d look no further than her carry-on bags…all FIVE of them. How much do you want bet she tried to bring all five onboard then threw a fit when she was told only two were allowed?

Two lessons: drink responsibly and pack responsibly.

See these kind of airport situations on You Tube videos all the time, it is rather entertaining seeing how stupid and clueless people can be.

Usually being polite helps with getting some leeway if having a bit a of a problem at the airport. Personal example, I needed to get back to NYC from YYZ a couple years ago but because of the weather, the plane was cancelled, Other people were shouting and yelling at the gate agent, and I decided to wait my turn to talk to her. I was polite, made small talk, and asked if she had any flights early the next day so I could make my meeting. She was more than happy to help and I was the first person rebooked.

However, being brash and blatantly breaking the rules will not help one’s case.

Delta…ban her from flying on Delta. End of story. If more airlines would get tougher on unruly passengers, it would make things better for the airline and those who, would otherwise, have to put up with her for more than 15 minutes.

Lol the AI autocaption at the bottom is bad, but I think the captions actually embedded in the video are intentionally bad as to make fun of her incoherence

Why do so many people think screaming louder would further their cause? Maybe it worked in their home when they were growing up?

I live in Japan and the difference in traveller behavior at US airports and, say, Haneda and Narita, is day and night. Even the layout of the airports are people friendly in Japan versus the agony of US airports. I’m not sure what the problem is but I am glad that there are some benefits of being an expat.

Your headline for this story is irresponsible and misleading. The article has value, but you need work on the clickbait headline.

Frankf and Andy: tasteless remarks. I don’t think yelling while intoxicated is somehow more undignified than say…….CRYING your way onto the Supreme Court. typical, white man hall pass for every single thing.
