Extended: Fly Between USA – Europe For Under $800 Each Way In Business Class

UPDATE: This deal has been extended to June 8, 2021.

Avianca LifeMiles is currently offering a spectacular bonus on purchased miles and today is the final day of the promotion. If you’re looking to travel to Europe this summer, I strongly recommend you take a look at this deal, particularly if the award space is already available.

Avianca LifeMiles Purchased Miles Promotion – Up To 175% Bonus

With partners all over the continent, Star Alliance is the strongest alliance partner to Europe. While Star Alliance flies all over the world, I pinpoint Europe because of the especially good value when redeeming Avianca LifeMiles and the generous award space typically available, particularly in the final 48 hours before travel.

LifeMiles One-Way Redemption Costs Between USA And Europe

  • Economy Class – 30,000 miles
  • Business Class – 63,000 miles
  • First Class – 87,000 miles

LifeMiles does not levy fuel surcharges, but does charge a $25 booking fee per ticket.

LifeMiles is not perfect. Sometimes, partner space is blocked. Refunding or changing a reservation is much more difficult than with other airlines. But despite that, Avianca offers a unique value proposition for transatlantic travel that I personally have taken advantage to secure attractive pricing compared to other programs like Air Canada Aeroplan and United MileagePlus.

I get no kickbacks for promoting this and I put my money where my mouth is: I’m planning a trip to Europe this summer and have purchased miles.

The normal bonus is 2:1. But with a special OMAAT bonus, you can receive an additional bonus at a tiered-level:

  • Buy 1,000-15,000 miles, get a 160% bonus
  • Buy 16,000-50,000 miles, get a 170% bonus
  • Buy 51,000-200,000 miles, get a 175% bonus

That works out to 1.2 cents per point, a great value.

Purchase here. Please buy the miles before you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points in…those points are much more valuable.

CONCLUSION

Ideally, you only buy the points if you already see the space. But if you are planning a trip to Europe this summer, I’ve seen a lot of last-minute space lately on Star Alliance and would personally take the risk, as I have done, to purchase miles in preparation for a close-in booking.

Will you take advantage of the current Avianca LifeMiles purchased miles bonus?

Since when? I was just looking at LAX-CPH space. I just could not add FAE connection. I waited too long to book!

As attractive as it is I just can’t deal with LifeMiles. I make too many changes and it’s a nightmare both navigating the website and getting anyone who can ever help. But good on those who have concrete dates and the patience…it’s a great deal. I’ll stick with Aeroplan when it comes to Star Alliance.

We are done with Lifemiles. They suck when it comes to spending your miles and when something goes wrong they are useless. Just yesterday Turkish Airlines cancelled one segment of our award trip from DBV to ATH and NO ONE would help! Not Lifemiles or TK. So we had to buy a tix within 48 hours. And on Turkish Airlines. That cost $1100 a tix for Dubrovnik to Athens. Life miles isn’t worth it after buying 300k miles over the last years. Just poor everything! My opinion from my experiences!!!
