Lufthansa Reports 300% Surge In USA Bookings

Apparently, there is quite a bit pent up demand to travel to the United States. Lufthansa just reported a huge number of future bookings that exceed even 2019 levels, including a tripling of bookings to the USA compared to the week prior. New York and Florida are proving to be the most popular destinations and Lufthansa and SWISS are even adding last-minute flights to the USA.

Lufthansa Boasts Three-Fold Surge In USA Bookings

The Biden Administration recently announced Europeans would no longer be blocked from traveling to the USA directly starting in early November. Even before the official start date has been announced, Lufthansa reported a surge in bookings, prompting the addition of more flights to the USA and increased domestic service in Germany to connect to these flights.

In a press release, Lufthansa explains:

  • On certain days in the last week, flights across the Atlantic increased 300% over the week before
  • Demand in the last week on certain routes almost reached pre-crisis levels
  • Flights with SWISS from Zurich and Lufthansa from Frankfurt to New York and from Frankfurt and Zurich to Miami had the highest bookings from both leisure and business travelers
  • Lufthansa and SWISS are offering a combined total of three-daily flights to Miami in November, flights which have just been added to the schedule
  • Domestic flights in Germany will grow 45% starting in October
  • In Premium Economy, Business and First Class more tickets to the USA were bought than in the same period in 2019

That last point is sure to make Lufthansa smile as premium cabin revenue has lagged behind that of economy class due to the decline of business travel during the pandemic.

Christmas flights are also in high-demand, with a surge in bookings, particularly between New York and Europe, that match 2019 levels.

Lufthansa also points out that in November it is offering more flights between New York + Chicago and Europe (including on Austrian and SWISS) than its entire route network to East Asia.

CONCLUSION

A favorable response to the re-opening of the USA borders was expected, but the actual response has been nothing short of overwhelming. With demand so strong, Lufthansa is even adding extra segments to the USA ahead of November’s re-opening.

Of course people want to come to America, most of us knew that all along. Americans wanting to visit these places, not so much. Only a small amount of elites and globalists looking for ideas to lower our country to their levels.

Maybe people don’t like the way you bully and judge others. Do you ever actually read what you post about others? As I said yesterday, we feel you are the human garbage you think we are. Why do you think only you gets to call others morons and idiots for their life choices? Do you even realize many feel how you live your life is against what so many believe? Your attitude towards others makes people dislike you. I can’t believe you don’t understand that.

What did Ben say that is “racist”? It might has been disrespectful and distasteful but nothing racist. No wonder the word has little meaning with the way you people throw it around.

Welcome back guys, have fun here, don’t let others lead you to believe that half of the people in the US are literal rampant racists.

One thing to watch though in this is that there is a new trend in multiple bookings given the ease of cancellations these days. There was an article recently in The Post that many are booking 2-3 different dates in case of testing problems, locations seeing a surge, or extensions of travel bans in either direction. Eventually canceling the ones they don’t use. I’m sure there is an increase for sure, and the November/December period will be a lot of pent up travel from Europe. But it still may not be anywhere near 2019 if you factor in multiple bookings and subsequent cancellations.

That’s a bit complicated- I think that both Economy Light and Business Saver fares are nonref- they certainly are for short haul- and Economy Classic is probably refundable with penalty.

Interesting that they publish this having just made huge amounts of cancellations on the European side of things- presumably a lot of the USA bookings will involve a regional connection. Let’s hope they start ramping up the schedule once again.

What’s racist about noting how Kanal got her start? As Willie Brown’s ambitious girlfriend.
