Memorial Day 2012

Matthew Klint Posted onMay 28, 2012December 9, 2016 4 Comments

Despite the irony of Boeing depending on war and carnage, and thereby the death of soldiers, to stay profitable, the aerospace firm manages to put together a nice Memorial Day ad each year. This year’s ad is compelling and reminds us of the sacrifice borne by soldiers in both wars present and wars past:

I had a very different Memorial Day post planned for today, but will save it–as my American readers go about their day today, just stop and think for a moment about those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. War is an ugly thing, but separating war and policymakers from those who are sent to fight war is critical.

Being a soldier does not necessarily a hero make, but the words of Jesus Christ in John 15:13 merit repeating: “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

May we not forget those who have died, nor cheapen their sacrifice by so wantonly subjecting soldiers of this generation to further conflict.

    “Despite the irony of Boeing depending on war and carnage, and thereby the death of soldiers, to stay profitable . . .”

    Caca del toro. What a shameful thing to say. Shame on you.

    @Jim, absurdo!

    With respect, this is not BS in the slightest.

    I’m not about to boycott Boeing or anything like that–it’s just a shameful reality of the military industrial complex…
